   Great for learning Japanese
This book is only in Japanese, so that it could be hard for self-studies. This can be great if you know something or someone so that you can get more easily through the book.

   Not bad, but could be better
The book is everything I expected and arrived in decent condition, however it was not completely sealed and the package could have been better. It arrived in a soft envelope too large for the book and because it was not sealed off, the book flicked constantly inside the package, causing some scratches on the cover.

   If you’re serious about learning Japanese.
I have been studying this book for a while now. It is a good textbook, I would say that it is on par with Genki to be the best Japanese textbooks. I personally think that if you want to learn the language, you must have as many books as possible, so I own this and the Genki books and use them together. A lot of people say that you need a teacher to use this book, as it is 100% Japanese. I don 't think that it is necessary. Of course, it helps to have a native Japanese speaker help you out, but there are tons of English explanations for everything in the book on the Internet. What I do is I try to read the chapter and then look up any grammarvocab I don 't understand, ultimately this book will immerse you more in the language, more than Genki, and I think that is very important.

   Must-have for newcomers in Japanese
For newcomers in Japanese, must-have book. May be difficult to get through without a teacher who would give you explanations of things since the whole book is entirely in Japanese.

   This book is not for studying alone
I am Japanese and teach Japanese to foreigners. This book is for studying Japanese, not for learning alone. The difference is clear. We Japanese teachers teach Japanese students through this book, and if you want to study Japanese alone, you can find other book written in your language and Japanese, but I hope my review will be helpful to you.

   Book is entirely in Japanese, so if you are learning alone you will need the translation book.
My teacher suggested that I buy the book and use it for all our lessons! The exercises at the end of the chapters help me reinforce what I learned as well!

This book, made very well, introduces you from the very first page to the last. I recommend using it in every way of learning, but seriously on the condition of doing it, because this book is not easy at all and requires lots of time devoted to it. It contains a lot of bonus content and is incredibly user-friendly. I can 't believe my eyes, but I am so happy that I bought it, and you will be as well! 5 stars 5!
