Great notebook, wish the map section was more intuitive
I used this notebook to make notes on all the places I wanted to visit during my first trip to NYC. The places I wanted to see on the map were perfect for my short trip. I needed to make the most of my time so I was able to see which way I was going. The multiple place keeping ribbons are perfect for quickly accessing important map pages or notes. The map section should have been ordered in a friendlier manner. I couldn't figure out which page to go to if I needed to see a section of the map.
   Great Travel Log
If you enjoy planning your own trips and don't mind being overwhelmed with so many locations and attractions, this City Notebook is a great option. You add all the places you want to go and anywhere you have gone while on the trip, and you can plot maps and add notes as you go along. It's a great way to travel for people who don't want to do the same things everyone else does. It's great if it's a place you like to travel to so that you can remember where you've been and what you want to do next.
Pass this one up. You won't need it.
I didn't use it because it was too small to read. I thought it would be fun, but the size is ridiculous. I apologize for wasting my money on it. The book would have been too small before smart phones. The maps were hard to read. The subway maps were a joke. This one is a big deal because I use them exclusively for everything.
but was disappointed it was for another city and they didn’t stock ...
My daughter is going to New York. She had seen the book in a bookstore, but was disappointed that it wasn't for New York. I found it here and surprised her. There is plenty of room to keep track of your favorite stops. She is excited to have it for her trip. I like the brand of Moleskin.
For all you tiny tiny New York notebook needs
New York is just as good as their other City note books. Maps, different kinds of paper, pocket, multiple bookmarks, etc. There are some things to watch out for, but mine is hardcover. The fold-out maps' transitions from page to page aren't always clear, so double-check what you're looking at until you get used to them. I know it's not right, but one accidentally makes Staten Island appear West of Manhattan, and even sitting in the middle of Nebraska, I know that ain't right. A small child can read it to you.
but the paper is pretty bad, especially since I like to use fountain ...
I think someone might use this as is, but the maps are not very helpful. The paper is pretty bad since I like to use fountain pens, but there's a lot of places to write in. I would get a map booklet with a travel notebook.
