This is a devotion for couples in the beginning stages of their faith journey. There are large sections devoted to male misconceptions, parental issues and other such obvious things. My wife has concerns with the book because it seems to promote the stereotype that the male is supposed to dominate in a Christian relationship and that the wife is supposed to be subordinated. I have to say that it also bugs me. Lastly, the book seems to speak to the read as if they are just beginning their faith journey. We actually stopped reading the book after a few weeks. Before anyone says anything, I made these observations by reading through many other days to see if we should continue or stop just... we stopped. My recommendation is to skip this book if you have been together for a while, have a good relationship, or start your faith journey together.

I love the Raineys and my husband and I were looking ...
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
I love the Raineys and my husband and I were looking for a marriage devotion to do together. The stories were wonderful, but are written for couples who are still in the child-rearing stage, which we are not. If you are a couple looking for a great parenting devotional, find this one up, but if you are a young couple without children or empty nesters like ourselves, you will want to find another devotional geared more towards the relationship of the couple.

Best for couples with kids
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
My husband and I have a great relationship and we are always looking for encouraging devotionals to build us up and even to convict us in areas we need it. This one is ok, but is geared very much towards couples with children. We have found only a few devotionals that focus with children or the couple the priority of the book. This particular piece does not fit into this category. My husband and I thought it would be better addressed for moments together for couples with children, since so much of the book focuses on the book itself, of a couples relationship.

A WORTHY MARRIAGE INVESTMENT!
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
For the following 5 reasons, I considered this devotional very high : It delves accurately into the Word of God and allows my wife and I to get into the topic and express our intimate and personal thoughts and feelings. It tests us both as parents, as Huband and as a wife. It allows us to hear how each other thinks and I have an opportunity to see the things on my wife's heart. 5. ( optional ) Both Dennis and Barbara keep it real. If you are looking for a good devotional for you and your wife, If you are looking to improve your listening and communication skills in your marriage, I encourage you to give this devotional a shot. However, I must warn you that this devotional is not for the CHARISMATIC Christian. This devotional is for those who are LIVING FOR CHRIST daily!

Realistic Biblical practical help for any marriage.
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
For over 3 years we have enjoyed our moments together. The lessons keep us talking about issues that we would otherwise gloss over. Even after 14 wonderful years of marriage, this book challenges us to grow closer to God and each other. Life has always something new to throw at us. This book helps you to deal with it. The format is a single page for a year every day. We don 't let it bother us to read an April issue in May.

Relive those arguements...
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
We've read through about 34 of this book and the one subject that seems to run through the entire book is that it is continually asking you to relive past arguments. I know that there may be people with problems with unfinished conflicts, but we both felt that the book was attempting to bring us to fight! We read the book probably, but will not finish it for a second time.
