We just returned from a month long stay in Costa Rica, this book had some helpful information, but was not all that helpful andor current in the long run.

   Not the most enthusiastic cheerleader for Costa Rica
As basic books go, it has all the guide info. The tone is not that positive, in fact, if we were not there to visit ourselves, we might not have wanted to experience things after reading this guide. It seems aimed at First World Western tourists who likes compact, tidy and neat adventures in a Babbit like way.

   Extremely well organized and excellent info
The writer has lived many years in Costa Rica and the book is extremely well organized, most important info is easy to spot and start building your tripvisits around it. Once you decide what to prepare, you’ll get enough information to visit in advance. First I buy Moon Travel Guide and our next travel will be based on the same collection maps, tips and focused, but still deep info has helped me organize my whole family vacation while on the move. My 2 weapons were the Moon Travel Guide and Booking. com. I often skip food or accommodation information from traditional travel guides, but here I found it very useful and easy to read. Field Guide makes an excellent guide.

The author has first hand, up-to-date information included about everything you could know about traveling to Costa Rica. It was broken into sections that helped us plan our trip. Even with all the info available on the internet, you need at least one hard copy guide with everything in one place and this is the one!

   Chock Full of Info and Advice
This book was really helpful before journeying to Costa Rica and while there. The info was found to be spot on. Via the recommendations in this book and the Pura Vida, eh! On the website we had so much information and connections that it made our travel so easy! This is definitely a needed resource if you are planning a trip to CR.

   Great post-covid update to traveling in Costa Rica
Using this map, I planned my honeymoon in Costa Rica in December 2021. I wanted to do something current, given a lot of changes, etc with COVID. This book was super helpful in understanding the types of activities to do in each region as well as the best vendors to work with for transport, activities, dinners etc.

I have read several reading books from Costa Rica and Moon's by far the best. The author knows and respects Costa Rica, its people and culture and shows.
