   Very cute!
I like these, but it was not exactly what I thought it was. It has a white piece of paper that you move with your fingers that makes the animals appear from a dark translucent film.

This is a brilliant book. The animals in the book are hard ...
The animals in the book are hard to see as they are covered by a dark cellulose sheet that covers the page, but wait!! There is the end of a flashlight sticking out at the edge of the page and Oh-My-God, when you light the flashlight beam around the page, all the animals light up when the beam hits them!! The kind of book that children will read over and over again and over and over again, but wait, there is more! One side of the interesting book is all the illustrations, the other side is open text with facts about the animals on the opposite page. Buy this book for anyone between the ages of 3 and 8, you won t regret it. Betcha that the kid still has the book in 25 years. It is a bookkeeper, the author has also a book Moonlight Oceans. We need more of these prehistoric animals, underground, reptilian, birds, etc. I write anything she buys.

Nothing great. Each section is 2 pages (facing each other)
It is a cute book. Each section is 2 pages in length. On the left side it explains what animals to look for and on the right side there is a scene and you use the light to find the animals. You can see the animals without the light, but it makes it easier to see when the light passes over the animal in the scene.

Fun book for little and big kids
I am not sure how it works, but it is basically a piece of cardstock that slides between pages of a film that only reveals the image when the flashlight goes over it. It is fun and fascinating for children. My girls, ages 2 and 4 have fun with the flashlight. I do have to help the 2 year old, as she has a tendency to be rough with it. It is also educational as it talks about night-active animals, how bats find insects and various other interesting animal facts. In all, I recommend this book as a different kind of book to add to your routine at bedtime.

awesome book, wish had more pages
I received a review of this book from someone who gave it 3 stars and said : Hide and eek '' so i bought both books. My entire family loves Moonlight, but neither my child nor I liked Hide and..., my husband liked it, but the illustrations are rather creepy for a child.

   NOT TODDLER FRIENDLY
Loved the idea of book for 2.5 year old. You have to pull flap '' to uncover hidden animals. Impossible to pull the flap because it is too short to grab and falls into the page. I can 't even grab it. TWEEKED NEEDS TO BE NEEDED Don 't buy it!

   Images not clear
We loved Moonlight Humans, but are very disappointed in Moonlight Ocean because the animals are blurred for some reason unless you pull the overlay. Moonlight Ocean '' is much clearer. We agree that the flashlight tends to slip inside the window pocket, but our 4 year old loves it. The paper flashlight gives a really strong feeling of lighting the images.

   Great for Kindergarteners!
I bought the book years ago at the zoo for my daughter and she loved it. My five-year-old son now loves it and has it too. It is more dense than a story, but it is not too informational. It is the perfect length for a bedtime story and the ability to see the “ Spotlight '' around to move the animals in the ” Dark ” keeps them engaged.

   Fascinating book
This finds my grandson fascinating. He sometimes needs a little help to get the Flashlight unstuck, but can then manipulate it himself and enjoys hunting in the dark for animals. Very sweet, and he has poked several times over it.
