Awesome book. There are pictures with the step by step guide. Good guidelines for practicing. There are several versions of poses that work best for you. Don't eat these things or how much this will change your life, it's all preached. Following this book will change your life. It works well for a yoga class at home or for a yoga practice at home. You should get a mat, blocks, straps, bolsters, and lightweight blankets at the same time you get the book. You' ll need them.

Yoga as PT

I find myself pacing myself to avoid injury when I reach the head stands and shoulder stands in week 5. I would love to have a training app or video that could be paused so that I could appreciate yoga in a new way.

Yee's work is helpful as a new yoga student. He gives rationale behind each of the poses, and gives a bit of coaching for the neophyte as to how to align and anticipate each asana. I want to savor the book, page by page, rather than rushing through it. As yoga has turned out to be a great experience, why would anyone want to rush it? The book is large and well done, and it has many illustrations that are easy to follow. This is also a companion for your time on the mat.

I Love Rodney Yee

I keep giving this book to friends because it is my third copy. I try to get this program in my life once a year. It gives you the chance to learn yoga in a way that is personal to you. It takes 6 days a week for 8 weeks of dedication. The poses are difficult but there are alternatives.

Not just routines or rhetoric but real plans for progressing in your practice

I'm considering having this book spiralized. It's pretty good at showing you how to warm up. Yee goes in depth as to how to make wheel pose a reality. Sometimes I stay there for a few weeks, because some of the poses are very detoxifying. It's a funny thing. A good book.

Terrific!

A good book for beginners to put together a home practice. Although, so far, I don't follow his sequence or do all of his suggested poses, preferring for the time being, to stick with what I' ve come up with on my own, I learned so much about balancing and finding a workable approach to home practice. I was reassured by the book that the path I'm on is sound. Thank you.

Gorgeous book

Many other reviewers have laid out the subject matter of this book, so I will just add that this is an absolutely beautiful book, with glossy pages and many beautiful full- color photos. It's a pleasure to look at. Yee's approach is straightforward. I have been trying to figure out how to build a personal practice, so I am excited to read this book. I' ve taken many yoga classes, but didn't know how to do it on my own. The book is the answer. It was very excited! It's!

It tells you how long to hold a pose and how to do variations of it to help you build strength and balance. I will feel confident going to class when I master these poses. It tells you how to hold your foot in the poses. Love it.
