Another sweet and funny story by Cynthia Rylant! My children love Mr. Putter and Tabby, but I think that parents just enjoy these books! In this story, Mr Teaberry is baking for the first time with the goal of giving his friend Mrs. Putter a Christmas cake. In this book, Mr. Putter is giving the spirit of giving and the spirit of perseverance! While the holiday relates to the story, my children enjoy the book year-round. The perfect for a child is just entering chapter books.

The books by Mr. Putter and Tabby are wonderful, every last one of them. Cynthia Rylant is an excellent writer who can handle a subject with sensitivity when necessary and is able to be funny when called for. Mr. Putter makes us giggle and when we are lucky enough to read these books to a young person it is even better!

These to have on hand for my granddaughters to read before bedtime. They are just learning visual words and one of these days I hope to see them reading to me. For the entire story, my girls stayed engaged. I love illustrations personally ''. Henry and Mudge is also a favorite series of girls, so I bought these with this expectation.
