Book Overview

A rare book inspires a crime of passion in the fourth novel in the New York Times bestselling Bibliophile Mystery series.

When she receives an exquisite copy of the Kama Sutra from her best friend, Robin, to appraise and restore, bookbinder Brooklyn Wainwright anticipates recreating a beautiful book and spicing up her love life. But before Brooklyn can get started, Robin winds up in big trouble: her apartment's been ransacked, and the great guy she recently met lies murdered in her bed. Now Robin is the #1 suspect.

Luckily Brooklyn's boyfriend, British security expert Derek Stone, has moved to San Francisco and is ready to help. And not a moment too soon as Brooklyn's own apartment is found thoroughly searched. Obviously, exploring the Kama Sutra's bliss will have to wait until after Brooklyn finds the killer.

   Birkenstock-wearing Book Restorer Solves Murders
Brooklyn is a bookbinder who lives in San Francisco and grew up in a wine country in Sonoma. The reader will enjoy her sleuthing skills, as well as learning about book restoration. Brooklyn and her mentor are introduced in Homicide in Hardcover. The Edinburgh Book Fair is where the next mystery in If Books Could Kill will take place. Brooklyn is teaching a bookbinding class at the Bay Area Book Arts Center when she investigates the murder of the woman director. Brooklyn is asked to appraise and restore a rare Kama Sutra that her friend Robin has brought back from India in the last book I read. Robin met a guy who was murdured. One Book in the Grave is the final book in the series and I haven't read it yet.

Brooklyn comes off as so needy.
I have read 4 books in the series. In most cases, I like the hero, Brooklyn. I will give up on this series if I have to read more about how hot Derek Stone is or how much his necktie is worth. It doesn't add anything to her character that she feels so confident that this guy actually likes her. Either get them married or send him back to England.

   My Weekend Enjoyment!!!
Hey, I'm okay! The woman who ordered The Portable Emerson came back to my computer and ordered Christopher Pramuk's new book. The artist is still alive. I read Kate Carlisle over the weekend. I am always surprised by her final twist. Kate Carlisle is a good writer, she has a positive outlook on life, and I like her relationship withDerek and Brooklyn. Kate, keep up the good work! There is a MAF.

   Refound series
I neglected to read the first of the series because I had so many book and library series on my phone. I will continue to read this series. The interplay between the characters makes me like them. They aren't normal but that's ok. The book repair and reproduction business is doing well. I have learned a lot. Simple book making projects would be fun to include in the book. I know people like to make recipes and crafts.

   A terrific new series
Brooklyn and her friends have become very popular in the digital library. I am a bibliophile, but not with technical interests. I am very comfortable in this world.

   Excellent series
This is a series that I love. It is better to take several dats as you do not want them to end, but I surprise myself by trying to read a book in one day.

   Fascinating
The bookbinding parts of her books have been on my mind. A person can be absorbed in such an environment. They are great characters. I would like to shop in Dharma.

   Love this series
To get the full knowledge and background of the characters, you should read each book in order. A great mystery, book restoration info, fabulous characters and just enough romance.

She has a handsome private eye from England who has fallen in love with her, too.
I didn't mention that she finds dead bodies in every book and there's a nasty girl who gives her a rough time.
