   Useful and Handy Fueld Guide
I would not call this a pocket guide because it is long and laminated, which is a good thing, it is not foldable. However, it is a useful and portable field guide that will fit in a daypack or backpack if you are on a hike or backpacking or camping. It contains 77 edible and poisonous illustrations of both lifelike mushrooms and a general information and tip page. The illustrations are of good quality, and if you look at the photographs of each mushroom on Google or Bing, you will be able to recognize the illustration as the specific mushroom in the photo. Overall, it is 4 out of 5 stars because it is not foldable to the level of comfort in a pant or a shirt pocket, but I would feel confident having studied the mushrooms thoroughly on the pamphlet, using this as a field guide for identifying the edible mushrooms on the pamphlet in the wild. In my opinion, the price is worth.
   Great for kids!
This has been helpful in our studies of nature, my 5yo son loves it! I didn 't realize he was reading it on his own until we were walking in the woods recently and spotted some mushrooms. I asked our friend to take a picture of the mushrooms with her phone so that we could identify them at home, since we did not have the guide with us. My son piped and said, I know what they are! She took the picture and we looked them up at home. Sure enough, that is what they were! I am sure that the guide is not comprehensive since it has limited space. It is perfect for children, good variety of species, not too overwhelmingly long, good size for small hands. It is really added to our homeschool studies of nature.
   Great Field Guide
First of all, this is by no means a fully unabridged guide to mushrooms. For this you will need a Peterson guide. If you have a Peterson guide at home, however, read it and carry this field guide as a reminder. The pictures are actually drawings, but are very good. Most of them show closed and open mushrooms. It even has a few listed poisonous mushrooms, so that you don 't eat them. Lamination is good, plus the size is really nice for carrying in a backpack or a large fanny pack. Overall, for home, get a good resource like Peterson. Well, bring it up, but don 't study it with you. It takes up way too much space. These small field guides will bring these easy field guides for a quick reference.
Very confusing only because they have such a small amount of details. For a better use, certain details should have been in different places. Sturdy and good for travel.
   Good reference guides
If you’re familiar with these pamphlet guides at all, you know what you are getting.
   Well Made & Insightful
We usually toss this in our day pack when we are exploring and hiking to liven the learning. Cover with a waterproof cover that makes it easy to use while it is rainy! Impressed and would recommend highly.
   Exactly what I wanted
Good reference guide to help identify what you found, but mushrooms can be toxic, so be sure to get some second opinions before consumption. Note that the pictures in the guide are illustrations and not actual photographs, but I have no problem with this.
