This book is missing a lot.
The book is missing a lot of mushrooms. The example is Ruby bolete. There is good information in it, but it is missing some critical information. Will return and buy a different one. You might think they'd be in the book but they're not, I'm covered in them. I like them because they have a resemblance to brown whiskey.

   So useful!
I think this book is wonderful. It was given to me for my birthday, and we have used it many times. It is clear what the facts are and the color pictures show them in a good light. It's very simple to use

   For Serious Hunters!
There are 4 other rooms books, but they all had mushrooms from all over the world. I would like to identify what's in my area. There is a wonderful book here. The book is great for mushroom identification even though you don't have a microscope or understand technical language. The Boletes are the reason I wanted more information on the bad ones to avoid. The book contains information on symptoms of poisoning, how to make sporeprints and what to HairMax for tough ID.

These beautiful color images are great for identifying your mushroom
This is a beautiful book. The mushrooms are shown in beautiful color photographs which are important to identification. The descriptions are complete with normal size information and common name. They are arranged by groups with a color code. The back has a nice glossary. A picture key is at the front to help you identify the mushroom you are interested in.

Identified my first edible mushroom with this
I'm laying down wood chips and leaves to plant some guilds. I wanted a way to identify the mushrooms without being confused by the many different types of mushrooms in the world. I was delighted to discover that I have deer mushrooms, because I used the clear keys and how-to on making a spore print. I fried one in butter and then whizzed up the rest in my blender to make a drink. I like the cautions and recommendations to compare what you have found with other genera and species. The photos are great. I was surprised to learn that some people eat dog vomit mold. Don't think I'll go there.

   it's a pretty OK/good book
The book does cover the Southeast, but there are not as many mushrooms as I have already found in my area. I find it frustrating to only see about 2 species of a certain group of animals. The book is useful if you're looking to tax a mushroom. This is a book that will help you find a good one.

   Mushroom Book
It's a great book for people who are new to mushrooms. If there is information about each mushroom, there are great pictures.

   Great Reference!
I'm glad I got it, I wasn't looking for a mushroom book. I received it as a birthday present. I like knowing about the stuff in my garden and the woods. It's easy to read. The mushrooms are grouped by type and listed in alphabetical order. I was able to identify the few specimens I've tried with only a few words of knowledge. The pictures are great.

   FAN-TASTIC!
This book is amazing. It could be more than that. The layout is reader friendly, and the photos are beautiful. This is the kind of reference book I like, with bright and colorful pages. I said out loud that I love this mushroom book. It's everything about it! The thing makes me want to read it. That's the truth, that's what it said. It's one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Great reference, specific to the area I live in.
It was very interesting. I like using this to find mushrooms in my area. This book identifies a lot of the ones that are found in the south. It's important to read all the books on the subject because they are all about other areas of the country and not necessarily the South. This book will help me find mushroom beds that will work well in my area.
