   Good standard literature for kids
Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys are fun, simple, written in standard conversational English and present characters in familial and respectful settings. My granddaughter is reading for pleasure and I am glad to supplement her library with some of these books. In tutoring current students, I am a little disappointed in the reading books I have seen that are local publications. They are highly conversational, use much slang and colloquialisms and draw broadly from the recent spate of horror and strange fiction that is everywhere for older individuals. Access through Amazon for the more traditional publications provides very good prices and multiple sources of information.

Wonderful Gift for Girls, ages 8-11
My cousin's daughter celebrated her 9th birthday recently and I plan to give her this book for Christmas, along with some other Nancy Drew books. I gave her volumes 1 through 6 for her birthday and her mother tells me that she is just blazing through each book because she loves them so much. In the 1970s, I used to borrow a book a week from the local public library. I think we create a great connection with our children when we share something that we also love as children. It is a joy to be involved for all. In my opinion, you can 't go wrong. These books are classics, and by encouraging young readers to read them, you help the children in your life to develop a great habit of reading - one that stays with them throughout their entire life. I think that books of this type also help them to become better critical thinkers and writers.

   Wonderful for young readers
I bought these for my 10 year old granddaughter. She is in the 6th grade, but reads at the 4th grade level. She now has 8 of them and has read them all, I had read 55 of them and I loved them when I was in the 7th grade! They are so different from the mystery books of today... no sex... no murders... no cussing. I continue to buy them until she has all 56 editions. She has a 6 yr old sister who is able to read them too.

Good book for teens and preteens
This is just one of several Nancy Drew books that I bought as a Christmas gift for my 11 year old granddaughter, she is a Nancy Drew fan. I remember reading these books about the adventurous and avid sleuth when I was a preteen. The stories are perfect for teens and young teens. They're interesting stories with very little violence and totally G rated.

   Great Adventure
Nancy Drew is a good person with a straightforward self-control, brave, honest and generous. Includes a chapter with a college football game, and there are plenty of funnies by the suspects.

   Nancy Drew’s timeless
My 40 something wife suggested to my 40 something daughter to introduce my 8-year-old granddaughter to Nancy Drew, is very popular. We did and she loves them and is waiting for more.

Just started reading this series in my 80s! And of course, enjoying everyone! If she had a cell phone or a computer back then, keep thinking.
