The book is done beautifully from the leather cover to the beautiful pictures of butterflies and caterpillars. Written information will be very helpful in establishing habitats and providing food supply for more butterflies around the area.

Easy access to info

A bit complicated to find the butterflies and search for separate descriptions, as in all Audubon guides. But I haven t found anything better yet. I am glad that I used it because it is quite pricey.

Received old print with blue cover - don't order from "Shop Simpler"
Derived From Web , Jan 13, 2021
Ordered from Shop Simpler, the book I received is similar to what is shown, except it is a much older print. I was disappointed that I did not receive exactly what was pictured. You can tell mine is older, it has a BLUE cover... disappointed.

I keep it in our FL room, so that I can quickly grab it when I see one that I don 't know. We have them always because of this!

No caterpillar information
Derived From Web , Jul 27, 2020
When I realized it does not include photosinformation for caterpillars to match with the butterfly, I was disappointed. There is a small set of photos of caterpillars, but not a 1-1 match with the butterflies, so it is hard to match them up.

Photos Not Drawings
Derived From Web , Feb 10, 2020
For this reason, I would buy a different book. There are, however, lots of full color pictures, including caterpillars, etc. that help identification at all stages of life. As well, lots of information about migration.

We live in the country and we love the presence of all species of wildlife. We have the majority of all Audubon books, so we can use them to identify unknown creatures. The series of books are fabulous and provides all the details and more information than we can absorb. This series of books for those interested in wildlife - enthusiasts highly recommend.
