   Worth Having
I like that this book includes animals and plants as well as birds. Unfortunately, I downloaded the book AFTER I started using a bird naming app for my phone. The app is easier than hunting through the pages looking for the bird I saw. Still, it has a great reference and is information about the National Parks in Southwest. I have been to some of the national parks that I have reviewed in the book, and the reviews are accurate and informative.

   Useful General Guide
This book covers a wide range of wildlife that you will see in the covered area. It is a general guide, though, so that it is easily possible to see many plants and creatures not included. The book covers Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah. It is a handy size, and if you are traveling in this area or are just interested in what is around you when you live in that area, this is a good book to have. I live in far west Texas, but still find the book useful because the ranges of many of the plants and animals covered in this book do extend to the area I live in.

   Answered all my wife's questions!
From the east coast we moved to Colorado. My wife is a plant and wildlife aficionado and was frustrated that she saw things here that we never saw on the east coast and couldn t identify them. I bought her this book so that she could stop asking me what the hell was this or that. Besides that, it is well constructed and durable.

   Love this series
With its handy size and strong covers, it is sturdy. These get a round of workout in my household! I went through all sorts of specialised field guides, but the layout of these works the best for me. How about a 3rd map to buy for a 3rd region? I am still looking for the field guides for the geology dreams of my dreams.

   Great starting point
I love these local guides to use as a starting point when I see something interesting. Give me the foundation to ask the right questions if I want to explore further on the web. Carry the full set in my little RV. It was fun to see in the evenings and then to browse plants etc when hiking.

Exactly what I was looking for replacing lost one!
I had lost my old one, which I always kept in my car, and am so happy to have the field guide back. This is an excellent reference book in pocket size, to have at all times. With coverage of everything from rocks to insects, to cactuses and trees. With pictures of it all, it is so easy to identify what you see here in AZ. Once again, I can find the answer! Quick delivery and described in the condition. Thank you for the kind words.

Great to have for home or travel!
So fun to have and travel for home because you can look up the plants and animals you see and share with each other. My children also love the book and learn about everything that is in it.
