After reading this, you will want to "find your park"

Great primer on all of the National Parks, but that's just what it is -- a primer. Also, I suppose it's only natural, but the stars of the national park system - such as Yosemite or Yellowstone - get more coverage than small, lesser known parks. Too bad, because imo the stars already have enough of the spotlight shone on them through many other media, whereas the little gems need to be highlighted more so they can receive the appreciation they deserve. Still, if you want to get your feet wet and see which park is worth exploring, this book hopefully, gives enough tantalizing information to make you want to learn more, and as the National Parks Service slogan says, Go Find Your Park.

love this book! great resource

was very useful for my tour of some national parks, and for planning where to stay, which visitor centers were best for me, learning about some of the geology and natural forces at work in each area, and specifics as to what to expect when I got there. It was my go to book in advance for each visit. The U.S. keeps adding new monuments et al so it's best to get the most recent edition of this book.

Dad has absolutely loved it, said Jennette Tamayo, one of the owners of the bike. He's very passionate about history, geography and the National Parks, Tunick said. It's just that I see it in a different place with bookmarks. McCartney said he's completely in love with the new technology. This was the perfect present for Kristen, said Melissa. Look to use this book in retirement to visit as many National Parks, Monuments, and other sites as possible. However, NASA said no shuttle would run on the new equipment without significant delays. Thanks for the date.

Not National Geographic Quality

I was very excited to get this book but must admit, it certainly doesn't have the quality of pictures I would expect from National Geographic. However, most of the pictures are not nearly as colorful or clear as they could be with today's cameras. If you're looking for a list of a bunch of parks and general info about them, then this is the book for you. If you're looking for ideas and things to do once you're in the park, I recommend purchasing something else.

Bought it from the library and kept it. Only a book about the official National Park Service is selling you short on the system. We took it with us on an RV trip. Highly recommend.
