Perfect for young school age, emerging readers with interest in nature

This book elicited squeals of glee from the 5-year-old we gave it to as a present. Penguin's book is jam-packed with such endearing images of the world's most unusual inhabitants. It's a relatively easy reader, lots of great photographs, and tons of little facts about penguins, too. It's something kids can pore over on their own or have a grown-up read to them, and as they emerge as readers it's a great way to get started with a subject they love. Really high quality, great size for kids to keep next to their bed or in a book bag, and informative. The perfect present for any young child with an interest in nature.

A no brainer
Derived From Web , Apr 24, 2022
The fact is, all these National Geographic booklets are great for the youngsters. My 3 and 5 year old granddaughters, Mia and Conner, enjoy playing with the animals and insects. The pictures are truly exceptional. Even though I am not an expert on the animals, I am learning new facts about them. My daughter-in-law, who also received a book voucher, says it's good to read some non-fiction to the children. An all around great hit, Tunick said. I have purchased about 10 different books and have never been disappointed.

GREAT

This book is a great read. There was an awesome picture of how the baby penguins are fed, too. The students loved this because regurgitation was one of our vocabulary words during the unit.

Great magazine for kids
Derived From Web , Mar 3, 2021
My 10 year old granddaughter absolutely loves them. My daughter is excited to read about a different animal each time, and she has such a good time doing it. She loves getting mail, and she also has a soft spot for animals, so this is a great deal for her, they said. This is by far the best product I have ever purchased. The product is highly recommended, said Dr. Michael Davis, director of the University of Maryland's Center for Health Research.

Like all National Geographic books, this is a wonderful product. The pages are smooth and durable, making them great for business. No rips so far, despite the fact that we've read this book a lot, said Dr. Goin. It's appropriate for children that age without patronizing them, Levine said.
