A beautiful box set from Gaiman and Riddell
This box set is Love, Love, and Love this box set. Chris Riddell's beautiful illustrations add so much to Neil Gaiman's wonderful stories. I can not say enough. All three stories are fabulous and typical of Gaiman. Each time you view them, you notice another detail.
She devoured Fortunately the Milk in one night chuckling and reading passages ...
We received it as a birthday present for our 10 year old daughter. She devoured the milk in a night of chuckling and reading passages aloud. Makes my heart sing to raise a new generation of Gaiman fans!
Great for Reading Aloud and Very Nice Look
All books have very good art and the box they come in is nice and sturdy. I really like how the artwork is divided with the text at times rather than intertwined at the bottom or on its own page. My favorite story of the three is The Graveyard Book, which has a nice balance of creepy with lovable characters and an interesting, though segmented plot. Coraline is more of a horror story and the creepiest of the three, and a really good read. Fortunately, the milk balances the other two by adding adventure and fun to the set.
This is why we still print books!
Yes, I own all these books in their original release form, yes, I take valuable space for two copies, but this art! My theory is that a book cover looks nor ragged and the more broken its spine becomes the more cherished it has been. I have cherished these stories and now have fresh copies to fall in love with them all over again.
   Awesome stories and pictures!
This was used for my daughter and I bought it. This would be a good choice for families with several children of different ages, because there is something for everyone. The Sleepy reading routine really livened up!
My daughter loved the titles ABSOLUTELY. Beautifully set. Great books : Moreover, the combination of such illustrations and writing positively helped her to imagine a lot more than those fed by TV.
   Granddaughter loves these books
My granddaughter was thrilled to receive it for Christmas. She wanted her son to be 12 years old. I encourage anyone with children and grandchildren to promote an interest in reading as early as possible. It makes a difference and gives children a head start in education.
   These are not graphic novels..
These are not graphic novels, there are hardly any pictures in two of the books and the other has just one picture. If your kid is truly into graphic novels, don 't bother with this, its a disappointment for sure.
I needed the box set for my kids
I have personally read all these books over the years, some on kindle and some on audio, but when I saw the box set advertised, I thought I want to read all of those in physical form before bed with my children. They are all beautiful, strange, and sometimes frightening stories - my eight-year-old still finds the other mother a little too scary and hasn 't yet made it all the way through Coraline, but I think she will soon. Much recommended for children and adults alike.
Gaiman and Riddell make a perfect pair!
Two of our favorites are gaiman + riddell. The set of three purchased because it was less expensive. Other books are great! We especially love Chris Riddell! His artwork is a perfect match for Gaimans's writing and my children love these versions the best because of the illustrations. It would make a great gift for readers of all ages.
