There are so many useful tools included in the Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary that enhance the user's Bible study time, he said. There are several useful articles, such as five easy steps to better Bible study, the history of the early world, history of Israel, the people, and the kingdom. The book is an easy to read size and the overall book is set up in a user-friendly way, making it very appealing to children. It's a bit of a chunkster with over 1,200 pages, but mostly a children's book. This is a valuable tool for anyone looking to enhance their Bible study. A complimentary copy of the book was provided for review.

It's a must have a good dictionary when you enjoy digging deeper into the Bible. I love the Bible and the Nelson's Bible Illustrated Dictionary has been a great asset. I love the full color pictures, the maps, the pronunciation guides was great help and the enlarged type size was wonderful. It has more than 7,000 entries, has cross-references to major translations and has a survey of the Bible from The Open Bible. Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary will set you back $27.95. Thanks to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book for my honest review.

Physical definition of the word "dictionary" is defined as follows: "A reference to a set of documents or an index of documents." It's about the size of a regular hardcover book in length, and overall size, but its page count makes it a very thick and heavy book. It is filled with pictures, charts, maps, and of course, definitions. There is also a history Bible timeline in the front, which is nice. It's great to see that it's been made into such a useful tool, making it an excellent Bible study tool, Mary. It's a nice book, and packed with Bible information, Sosa said. I was provided a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

It explains and a lot about the people, their history and their traditions, it has many maps and definitions. I have not been unable to locate what I am looking for. The book explains what each book of the Bible is about and also includes a biography of the disciples and the main characters.

This is an overall good dictionary, especially when it comes to obscure items such as some infrequently mentioned Bible characters and the meanings of their names. This is very helpful for example when you want to look at specific names in genealogies such as Genesis or Matthew. Some of the names are not listed in the Bible, nor in any other major Christian reference book.

Television images could not be loaded. The Bible tells us that God created the universe and made man after His created image. I'm a visual and a hands-on learner, so the pictures in this book help me visualize what I'm reading and how it applies to the passage. The study and teaching outline of each Book of the Bible, helps to lay the foundation and gives great pointers of significant things to look for in the book. Overall the effort put into creating this Bible dictionary is exactly what i needed to motivate me to truly understand scripture, McBride said.

I really like the Nelson's Bible Dictionary, it has enhanced my reading and understanding of the Bible passages. I upgraded from a Compact Zondervan's Dictionary and the Nelson's offers more detailed information. The book is well-made and the pages are thick. Further study reveals there are occasional typeset spacing errors, but overall this is a fine resource for my study, Raymond said.
