The Definitive Guide to Interior Design!
I am a NYCSID graduate who was privileged to study under Ms. Fisher, one of my favorite professors! Had no expectations of ordering this book, but when it arrived I was blown away. My design school experience is well-summarized within this text, and beautifully done, he said. This book is the ultimate reference guide to the business of interior design. Bravo, Ellen -- I've been looking for a book like this for years. An absolute triumph.

   Beautiful and Informative
Television images could not be loaded. And, boy, did I love him. I'm getting back into design after life took me a different path. This book is a great refresher and has beautiful photos and illustrations, said Dr. Julie Mason, director of the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Definitely recommend.

   Disappointed
It says to do that, "Determine an appropriate woodwork style consistent with the spatial qualities and dimensions of each room, and in keeping with the overall style of the home." I'm definitely a novice, and having read half the book, I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. Here's what a color scheme is, but a professional interior designer can do this whole thing so much better than you, so you might as well just stop, kidding yourself, and hire a professional.

   Excellent Checklist
This book is a superb checklist of everything a DIY decorator, or otherwise, needs to know in one place. I would have rated it higher, Mr. Dhaliwal said. Although I would recommend this book to every homeowner, I found the author's taste not to my own—for which he can be forgiven, too. Some people might find him spot on theirs. The book is now considered outdated, even if Frey's is still relevant. But he said innovation needed to start from a solid grounding in tradition and generally agreed-upon practice.

   Solid Information
The book is being published by Random House and is based on the work of New York University Press. I bought this to use while redecorating and remodeling my home because I needed more than pretty pictures to help me with this project.

I have never read a book that was so well-organized. Get this book now and you will learn so much about layout, color scheme and true visualisation of rooms. It's truly spectacular, Tunick said. A must have in your library. Everything I was looking for in a car was found in this one. It's just that they call it quits."

Excellent Design Book for Novices and Experts Alike
This book is very good. The book breaks down each element of design, taking you through the thinking processes of interior designers. The book is extremely comprehensive and offers its readers quick and easy access to the information they need in a short and to-the-point segments. I bought this book for my mother as her house was destroyed in Hurricane Harvey and she wanted some design help, Raymond said. She's not confident about her design skills, but I think this will be helpful for her because the book walks you through every element of interior design.

Probably the most thorough residential interior design resource out there.
This book was a beautiful collection of photos and guidelines for residential interior design. I couldn't put it down for two days _ read it from start to finish! It's also an excellent coffee table book and great conversation starter, Morgenthau said.

The book is an excellent reference guide. Clean, well-organized pages, pictures and all are current and relevant. Don't pass this book up. It will be your go-to for everything.

Brings best design process and practices to the residential designer
The interior designer's book is a must-have for anyone seeking to improve their living space. There are many great resources for commercial interiors, but they are not all geared toward residential use. The book is actually based on best practices and processes, said Reichert. The book's design and visuals are also impressive. It's great to see a book about residential design that isn't fluff.
