A Good Place to Start for Beginners
The book is a must have for beginners with a DSLR. Even on Amazon. com, there are better books for this camera. I had to start somewhere. The complete manual for the camera does not tell you what features are appropriate for certain circumstances. The D3200 for dummies gives a lot of useful tips, explanations, and best practices that are applicable to most DSLR cameras. The book's price is a pittance compared to what you will spend on all the accessories for your camera.

   A must have
I am a senior citizen and I am new to photography. I need a lot of help getting started with my new camera. I want to take advantage of all the bells and whistles that the Nikon has to offer and I still learn best from reading a manual. The book is easy to navigate in that I can look up things in the index and just read what I need to know in the moment. There are lots of diagrams and photos to help me understand the science of photography. The book is a good reference for many years.

   Great Helpful Book
The instructions for an SLR are written for someone who doesn't know how to use common English, and you know that. This book is easy to understand and will allow you to learn what you want to do. Change focus, understand the little symbols on the camera, set it to manual. I haven't read the whole book, but just the areas that I wanted to learn about, and now I feel more confident with the SLR.

   Very useful
If you want to master your camera without becoming a David Bailey, it's good to read.

   For absolute beginners
The book gave instructions on how to use the camera as a point and shoot, but I didn't like it. I don't blame the author because I didn't pay much attention to what the book was about. For someone who wants to use the D3200 to take good pictures and not fuss with the technical aspects or advanced features it should be helpful.

Can’t go wrong if this is your first Nikon dslr
The first camera I owned was the Nikon. I read a lot of books on how to take pictures but I didn't know my camera well. The For Dummies series breaks the information down so it is easy to understand. This book is not different. It explains how to use the features in a variety of ways. If you have been taking pictures for several years and still don't know everything about your camera, I would recommend buying this book.

   Recommended for everyone.
You can get value from this book if you' re not a beginner. I worked as a commercial photographer for 27 years. I used all sorts of equipment. Except the internet. It had yet to hit. I like the way it's written and I started reading this book today and have learned a lot. Very pleased with my purchase. It's recommended for every new digital user.
