This book is drawn short and most of the story is drawn from the illustrations. If you have a child who enjoys visuals more than words, this book is a winner. It's funny and rings true to parenting experiences as well!

This is my two year-old daughter's favorite book. She has the whole thing memorized
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
This is my two-year-old daughter's favorite book. She has the whole thing memorized and quotes it to her baby brother named David. It makes me laugh as a parent, to be able to picture my own young children doing the same.

Toddler favorite!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I discovered this book when my son kept saying No, David '' whenever we would drive from Daycare home. I know that there are no children named David in his class, so I kept wondering who is this David and what is he doing to my kid?!! Finally got to the bottom of it! My 2-year-old LOVES this book. I don 't see the appeal as it contains about 20 words total that are some variant of No, David! My son loves it so much that it deserves 5 stars, but my son also loves it so much that it deserves 5. The other day I caught him reading the entire book to himself and at the end when he read Yes, David. I love you, he blew himself two kisses. So adorable. So cute ''. Pictures are very rich and very well done.

Super fun book for toddlers!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
My son loved these books. My son loved reading them. I went to find our copy to lend to a friend who has a three-year-old daughter whose favorite word is NO. I can not find our copy, so I bought this and David gets in trouble for them. These books are really fun for toddlers because, let's face it, most of their day is filled with no and stop and come along and put that down. This gives them the chance to be the one who does the scolding!!! When I read these books with my little one, he quickly memorized the dialogue and couldn 't wait to turn the pages, so he could laugh at David's antics and tell him to stop. I would also use the opportunity to ask David DOING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! '' I would also use the opportunity to ask : What is David DOING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I read a few reviews that complained that these books set a bad example, but I think those people honestly missed a teaching moment or two. And I think the art is scary, not the least bit awesome! ! !

Fun, easy reads for little ones
Derived From Web , Jan 2, 2021
David books are my absolute favorite of the 4 year old : We have read all 5 books and we have them over and over again every day. I hope that more will be published at some point! David is small, but what kid was when they were naughty?! The books are a fun, easy read....... and have been extremely beneficial for my son's speech delay. He loves to say the short sentences that go with each picture before we have a chance to yell them.

No, David!
Derived From Web , Jan 2, 2021
I have a teen niece who is a reluctant reader. For a Christmas present last year, she received a book each month from Librarian Aunt Donna. I opted the Caldecott Medal winners. She loved every book I sent to her and got really into it. She wants to send her more. That reluctant reader learns the joy of reading and is introduced to some wonderful books. He is always in trouble and NO is the word he hears most. Ending the book with a nice ending.

My son's name is David
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2019
He loves this book and will read the parts while I act for the 27th time that day. Sometimes he lets me take bathroom breaks, eat or watch a show, but his demand for this book to be read is so high that he forgets that I have basic needs, when I cry at night, I have visions of this book and the little boy, David, laughing at me. With his weird toothy grin, he reminds me that tomorrow is a new day... a new day to read this book. And again. And again. And again. And again... and again... But! Whatever makes him happy, whatever makes him. Moments like this, reading to him, will be etched in my mind forever. My son and I love this book, this was a purchase that David asked for and mommy? She didn 't say no.
