Good general book, CD is weak
This is a great read for a first homebuyer because it explains things clearly and thoroughly without making many assumptions about what you know. I liked the section on alternative forms of financing, especially useful in this day of ever more restrictive bank lending, but it is basically assuming that you are using a real estate agentbrokerrealtor, so I was disappointed that this book would make me independent. The forms are weak. I was hoping for some sample offers or contracts, but instead it has a dream house worksheet and some random other forms so simple and basic that it could easily be offered for free instead of necessing the enclosed CD.

The Go To Guide for the first time buyer
This was my offer to the prospect when I encounter a young business lady as a mortgage broker and screams over the idea that it was time to become a home owner. Forget Mister Right as a nimber and gain the stature and apeal of being a member of society. Usually it was because they had done the social changes that occrred when someone in their circle of circles, was a house that is. You will be totally surprised that this much-plated gold advice comes for such aexceptionally modest proice. But on my part it was not all philanthropy... Usually she had her first mortgae ap. Often, I get a referral to her friend from a peak at that book. Another bonus when you buy this book... you become with NOLO press... an almost unlimited supply of down to earth, legal information that will save you lots and lots of money.

   Well written and helpful
Cons : Lots of good information - well written - easy to remember supplementary material, could be better organized by providing a summary at the end of the chapter about the important points one needs to remember or reference later. There is sometimes too much useful information and fluff that seems to work as a filler instead of providing additional information. Although I like conversational style, I feel like the book was trying too hard to be fun and clever. I personally want to get to the meat of important information without having to weed through a lot of filler. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone seeking a basic foundation for home buying. However, it would be wise to also get another book that covers more in-depth mortgages.

   Very Helpful
I loved all the info in this book because it was so well laid and in a way that I could understand it. In the beginning, it had a lot of common sense information, but the more you get into it, the more informative it became. I especially loved the cd that came with it, I printed many of them to use in our house shopping process.
