NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELER
The authors make this unassuming, most studious woman come pulsing to life. . . . Notorious RBG may be a playful project, but it asks to be read seriously. . . . That I responded so personally to it is a testimony to [its] storytelling and panache.-- Jennifer Senior, New York Times
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg never asked for fame--she has only tried to make the world a little better and a little freer.
But nearly a half-century into her career, something funny happened to the octogenarian: she won the internet. Across America, people who weren't even born when Ginsburg first made her name as a feminist pioneer are tattooing themselves with her face, setting her famously searing dissents to music, and making viral videos in tribute.
Notorious RBG, inspired by the Tumblr that amused the Justice herself and brought to you by its founder and an award-winning feminist journalist, is more than just a love letter. It draws on intimate access to Ginsburg's family members, close friends, colleagues, and clerks, as well an interview with the Justice herself. An original hybrid of reported narrative, annotated dissents, rare archival photos and documents, and illustrations, the book tells a never-before-told story of an unusual and transformative woman who Read More chevron_right

I was disappointed that she is the woman I wanted to read about why she is the woman I am, not a laundry list of her achievements. It was written in a very simple style with no challenging ideas, and no concepts that made me actually consider the difficulties involved in making that decision, Mr. Rule told the judge. I read about half of it and put it away, as I lost interest in a love story about how much we should adore RBG. It was a tough life, but reading about hers came off as boring.

Celebrate RBG

The book is the culmination of a remarkable biography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Supreme Court justice. The book includes many of her early years in school, her relationship with her parents and her educational history. The book tells the story of a woman who repeatedly battled workplace discrimination as well as sexist behavior carried out by her male peers. Equally remarkable is the story of Justice Ginsberg's marriage to her husband, who was as much a partner as he was a spouse. Discussion of their marriage made this such a wonderful account of two people who truly believed in the concept of equality in the marriage, Morgenthau said. His love of cooking and justice Ginsburg's love of opera and the theater demonstrate the depths of their relationship. He will be forever remembered as one of your most remarkable and devoted supreme court justices of all time.

Not very gripping a look at a fascinating woman. I was disappointed, Morgenthau said. It was a glimpse into the mind of a killer, but the real killer was never identified.

Wanted to know about her

The book details the conspiracy perfectly, McCabe said. I loved how they showed the balance that she kept between family life and being a Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O'Connor said. It's always great to have such truly intelligent people on the Supreme Court, he said. I was very happy with the book, and I'm glad I read it.
