   Great perspective and needed reassurance
A friend recommended this book and I flew through it practically yesterday. I had already read what to expect when you expect almost cover to cover, but now that I am 37 weeks and need to plan a C-section, I was looking for some more information and reassurance. I found just enough detail on the surgical process of a C-section to understand what to expect as well as some things I can request to make it my own. I also found reassurance that this is my choice, though the reasons are beyond my control. There was a passage that was particularly impactful. I wrote it so much so that I spelled it down on a note card to take it with me. This book is a helpful guide for, whatever your birth experience is or may be because it provides facts and options without judgement. Trust yourself and your body, as the title says. Best wishes! Best wishes ''.

   Refreshing Spirit of Inclusivity
As a birth and postpartum doula of 10 years, I am rarely impressed by new pregnancy and birth books that hit the shelves. In contrast, nothing short of groundbreaking is Erica Chidi Cohen's Nurture. In these pages she manages to remove the stigma around home birth and medicated birth options simultaneously while addressing the most intimate and at times most heaviest aspects of pregnancy and early motherhood with warmth, style and a healthy dose of humor. Reading the simple to follow advice feels like receiving secrets from a close friend. Throughout the book, you will find a refreshing spirit of inclusivity. Nothing is too sensitive to Taboo to be brought into the convo. In the first few chapters, topics ranging from loss to domestic violence and sexual abuse are addressed right alongside self care, insurance and return to work. If you choose just one book to help you navigate the transition to parenthood, you’ve chosen a great place to start!

The best all encompassing book on birth
What I love about Nurture is that it is perfect for expecting mothers as well as women who may want to have a baby at some far off point in time. It is refreshing not only in its content and coverage, but also in its tone and honesty - Erica's writing punches through with weight, beauty and realness that you won 't find elsewhere. She's experienced as a doula and strikes a great balance between a no-nonsense and yet very compassionate and holistic leader in the space. After reading this book, I feel so relieved and excited about the birthing and parenting journey and will continue to return to it time and time again.

   You need this book.
I absolutely adored this book while pregnant with my first child. I read a lot of books and this was really the only one that empowered me to listen and follow my gut instincts. During my labor, I even took it to the hospital, just in case I had to refer back to it. It has also been helpful in these first few months with baby. When they get pregnant, I will buy this as a gift for all my friends, I love it so much.

This book is fantastic! Currently I'm 39 weeks and I wish I had picked it up earlier, but I'm very glad I have it now. Erica writes with such compassion and kindness and no judgement on Erica's part. I love that her section on the subject of birth specifically emphasizes that any type of birth can be the right type for you. Her voice is very refreshing and she has reduced my anxiety about pregnancy, birth and becoming a mother. I have read so many books, but Nurture has been the best by far. Erica thank you Erica!!! And pregnant ladies out there - get this book! And pregnant ladies out there - get this book! '' !

   I really like the book
I really like the book, the content and the tips. However, each chapter is pretty and I feel like I’m waiting forever between milestones to read the next section. I think that every month there could be a little more information packed.

wonderful new world of becoming a mom
This book has been a godsend for an expecting mother as an outraged mother. But it is more than a book -- Emerson Chidi Cohen has created a space that a new or expecting mother can inhabit comfortably and gladly as she begins her new journey. Inside this room one feels as if they are accompanied by a wise, generous and perhaps most importantly a NON JUDGMENTAL friend to guide them, but also to sit with them as they experience the strange, wonderful new world of becoming a mother. The advice is simple and fresh at once, totally accessible and, as I said, accepting. The depth of experience and comprehensive knowledge of Charles Chidi Cohen make this book a must-read for any stage of pregnancy or parenthood.

Wow. I am simply blown away by Erica's writing style and the content of this book. While reading Nurture, I felt as though her words put their arms around me, gave me a big hug, and lifted me from a place of insecurity and anxiety to a hopeful outlook for the future. She said all the things I needed to hear now that my pregnancy is coming towards an end. I wish I could have had access to this book as a faithful companion from the beginning of pregnancy. It is truly holistic in its approach, starting with the most important issues such as self-healing and care, something that is entirely omit in a lot of other pregnancy books. Erica, thank you Erica for pouring your heart and soul into this book. I could sense your presence on every page!
