Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

On Becoming Babywise continues to gain global recognition for its common-sense approach to parenting a newborn. The infant management plan offered by Pediatrician Robert Bucknam, M.D. and co-author Gary Ezzo in this book helps parents successfully and naturally synchronize their baby's feeding time, waketime and nighttime cycles. The results? Happy, healthy and contented babies who sleep through the night on average between seven and nine weeks of age.

The best evaluation of any parenting philosophy, including Babywise, is not found in the reasoning or the logic of the hypothesis. End results speak clearly. Let your eyes confirm what works and what doesn't. You will be most confident in your parenting when you see the desired results lived out in other families.

This book is ALL YOU NEED!
You can buy this book. Don't read the bad reviews. I used this book with my babies. They're now 20 and 24 years old. The advice has stood the test of time. Within a week or two, our babies were sleeping for longer stretches after we followed the simple schedule. It makes sense that when their bicyle is on a schedule it will help them sleep. The children were always good to sleep with. They went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night. They are both very healthy and get over colds quickly. I am 100% sure that it is because of the healthy and solid sleep they learned as infants. I bought this book for my niece who is expecting a baby. I am happy that I can give this book to her.
A MUST HAVE for all parents of infants!!
The book was recommended to us by a parent of 5 kids and it was very helpful. My baby sleeps through the night at 2 months and has a predictable feed sleep schedule that allows me to function in my day while meeting his needs. Great information in this book. !
A common sense parenting book that is not so common these days
The Ezzo's put out cassette tapes in the 90's, and I followed the course of them. I'm glad I found this information because it made parenting so easy. I was never tired as a mom. My baby slept through the night. Really, no kidding! He slept until 900 a.m. I could sleep in with him and enjoy him all day. His scheule was predictable. It's time for parents to be in charge. It will make for a happier baby and mom. My daughter in law is pregnant and I bought this book for her. I hope they follow the book's principles.
If you want your baby to sleep through the night - this is a great book
I wish I had read this book before my first child was born. It completely changed my approach and made me a better person. I bought 2 copies of this book for my daughters, who are expecting. A baby will sleep through the night much sooner than you think, thanks to great advice, practical and practical help.
   It works!
My baby has been sleeping through the night since 5 weeks old, and I am not sure if I got lucky with my baby or not. The book gives a good foundation for eating and sleeping.
Very good book - most useful for newborn parents
Hearing from other people that the techniques worked for them made me buy the book. I have a baby that is not yet sleeping. The recommendations are very easy to understand and geared towards starting the methods with a newborn. There are still some things that can be applied to older babies like mine, but probably half of the book is geared towards newborns.
The book is amazing. The bad reviews should be ignored. You don't have to agree with everything of the book in order to get good knowledge. There is a lot of information in this book. I would definitely recommend it. People tell me how happy my kids are. They are amazed when they hear that they have been sleeping for about 8 hours a night since they were a few weeks old. The schedule is changing all the time. The book is going to help you understand your baby. It builds a lot of confidence in that. The more you understand your baby, the more you can make their schedule fit their needs.
   Kinda helpful
The schedule was helpful for me as a second time parent, but I felt that most things would have helped a first time parent.
   Who proofread this?
I'm annoyed because I'm only on chapter 2. I'm struggling to get through this book because of the many writing errors. Random captcha, and no sense at all, is what it is! It was very bad! I have to skim to find the parts that are relevant because I get distracted by the writing errors. I paid for this.
