One Night On The Island is 528 pages long.
If you’re here for romance, try another book
Derived From Web , Mar 16, 2022
This is my first book from this author. Spoilers now go to warn the spoilers. They both end up at the same rental. Small island of Small Island. No other accommodations are available. They spend so much lost time hating each other so that they spend so much time spent hating themselves. And then she likes him and wants to have a week long romance when he is ready to leave? Then you have his two sons, the ex-wife who wants to get back together. All the roadblocks because he can not leave them just. And in the end it's just kind of a downer. For me, the best part of the book was the community. I love that she stayed in Otter Lodge, and I love that she visited the Otter Lodge. She learned to love herself, but she was so hung up on him too. So much so that it made it depressing. And then his life at home was also depressing. Not sure where the current hug reviews came from because this book had me crying past pain and eventually their warm pain. If you’re looking for a sweet romantic book, this one might not be it.

A warm blanket of solace
Derived From Web , Mar 12, 2022
Thank you Josie Silvers for you wonderful novels that are a kitchy romcom, but wisdom and truth that resonates. I do continue to wonder whether the male perspective includes everything or if there is moreless there, but that does not ruin it for me.

Complex and Striking
Derived From Web , Mar 10, 2022
I loved the introspection of the main characters and the fully fleshed out supporting characters. The island, the isolation, the community that draws Cleo in. It was raw and real, it was real. This was by no means a straightforward or even predictable love story. The author's use of words is beautiful, piercing and absolutely complex.

Do Not Miss Reading This Glorious Book!
Derived From Web , Mar 7, 2022
Wanting to go on forever with this book, wanting to know how the main characters would solve impossible life challenges... and dying for that happy ending... this book does not disappoint! The language is real, heartaching, heartbreakingly poetic. The setting is as breathtaking as the story itself. Such a gorgeous book!

Magical

I did not expect to love this book, but I could put it down just. It was wonderful to read from a man who really loved his children and was not a one-dimensional shallow guy. The island will engulf you, as do the characters. Great winter reading.

If you only had one book to take on an island, this would NOT be it.
Derived From Web , Feb 18, 2022
Completely bummed. Completely bummed. This can not be the same author that I loved. This had almost a good premise, but the writing was early on the wall and did nothing for me. The marriage itself was weird, the romance was lame, and I found myself skimming the last half of the book. If you loved her other books, go here with very low expectations.
