Double-sided color paper

The paper is double-sided. Many attractive prints and some are so-so. Price is incredibly reasonable, so good to use as paper to practice designs. The paper is not as crisp as most origami papers. There is an “ almost†newsprint texture to this paper. It makes it still less enjoyable to work with for extended periods of time. The designs are whimsical for boxes, cranes and an assortment of projects.

At first, I worried that the color of this new collapsible treasure was muted. As I continued on my, fold a 1000 crane, journey, I feel the matte finish of some papers adds to the beauty of my piece. The final product is really beautiful. It is nice to see a texture. It has that semi-talked paper or rice paper feel to it. On occasion, I have ripped mine. Sometimes I also have little holes appearing on the spine of my cranes. I think that the Tetres may be related to my learning more than paper texture, though. Sometimes there may be a tittle of cheapness for them. The beauty of the finished product, however, makes more than necessary for this.

Beautiful Paper and Odd Smell!

YES, it does smell! But is it a smell worth sending the paper back and never buying again? It's a little bit of airing out, thats all you need to do. I love looking at them and it seems almost a shame to fold them! I can 't wait to make such beautiful butterflies and other designs with it! It is the beautiful design on the one side and then a bright solid color on the back side, which really adds to the design when you create a paper that uses both sides! The paper is of good quality. The only downside at all is the smell and I believe that a little airing out is all that is required if its too much to handle, personally the smell doesn 't bother me all that much. Also inside the paper is a small folded paper with 7 origami instructions Simple Swan, Star Box, Crane, Balloon, Samurai Helmet and Kimono. They are easy to fold and simple to follow!

Nice quality, pretty patterns

Honestly, I love that this large pack of loosely patterned papers is elastic and not bound at a single end, where you have to peel a sheet at a time. This keeps all edges clean and crisp. The paper quality is good ; I like that the surface is matte and not glossy. The color seems not to scrape with folding either. Great variety of patterns and each sheet has a great color on the other side for solid duo-color models.

THEY STINK

These papers smell bad, real bad. I tried sprinkling them outside and putting Lysol on them to get the stink out. When you touch them your hands smell like a stinky! The colors are also not as bright as depicted. But I will not order again from this company. I love origami swans in greeting cards and cannot use them. Then a million dollars was wasted.

High quality, beautiful designs

This paper is just gorgeous ''! As some have noted, there was a slight odor when I opened it for the first time, but it soon dissipated and I haven 't noticed it since five minutes after unwrapping. The designs are harmonious, and so many of them, with beautiful solids on the opposite sides. I was not expecting this, but sometimes when the different edges get together, the patterns match up! I wish I had these years ago.

Excellent Paper for folding

This review is specifically for Tuttle's 500 sheets of Kaleidoscope pattern 6 inch origami paper, which has excellent weight, strength, texture, printed on one side, solid color on the other, all sheets are 6 by 6 and are square. The sheets are not glossy or too thick like the paper that is often used in origami 365 day calendars. The paper has a paper mill smell. The odor does not come off on your hands and fortunately it is not too bad, I have been folding origami for over 50 years and this is a wonderful paper to fold. I made several traditional cranes with this paper ; they had crisp pointed heads and tails that held their shape because the paper is the right weight and texture for origami. I like it so much that I ordered another pack.

I have seen complaints about other brands of origami paper not being square in shape. They are of square shape. I don 't have any experience with origami - paper. I am just learning. For practice, I have used generic paper from the cheap. I can 't compare this to other origami paper brands. I have seen some complaints about the smell. Anyone who has used an ink printer to color an entire page will recognize this order. It is not a laser paper that is heat sensitive and fades in a short time. I don 't find the smell bad. I am getting over 2x more, paper is charging at the same price in local craft stores.

no odor! perfect compromise between plain and washi origami paper

My 9yo loves origami and has pointed out the beautiful Washi paper in paper stores. However, she is 9 so i am unwilling to spend that kind of money on paper that will not live as a permanent home decor. i stumbled upon this paper, which is not as refined as true Washi paper, but elaborate enough to satisfy my 4th grader. A few reviewers mentioned a horrible odor so I was pleasantly surprised to find the paper is free-of-odor and brightly inked on both sides with a very slight bleed in the patterns. This is a steal for the price!
