   A Beloved American Classic
Thornton Wilder wrote that part of his motivation in writing Our Town was to illustrate that even the seemingly mundane moments of our daily lives have value beyond the price. I think that it is Wilder's Our Town, which succeeds in showing that each and every day has meaning and significance. Emily's good-bye speech is among the best soliloquies in American theatre, and the love between Emily and George is sweet in its timelessness. I am a language arts teacher at Thornton Wilder and I do an entire unit of language arts each year.

   A must read!
In this classic play, Thornton Wilder captures the timeless themes of love, family and small town life. The older one gets older, the deeper the meaning of this story of growing up, living, loving and dying. It is truly a must read!

Book was in good condition, the story was meh.
The story itself is a little boring, though. I did not gain enough insight into the characters to really care about them, I didn 't care about anything that was happening, there was no real character or interesting plot development and all the action was very mundane and quick. I personally wouldn 't recommend buying the book if you don 't have it. Just find a fragment of the final scene and read it. I really don 't relate to all the hype about this game.

   Worth another read
This high school staple is certainly worth a second read. I don 't think that the youth can fully interpret this work.

   Best play ever!
More moving and meaningful than when I read it for the first time over 50 years ago.

Good - but a bit tedious to read
I received this book for my book club reading and read it, but gotta say that the play was hard to get through. It was historical or allegorical and if you read it for the fine aspect of the play, you 'll enjoy it. There is a lot in the text, but it is still a little difficult to get through all of it.

   GREAT HARD-BACK COLLECTOR'S EDITION
I purchased this book in the hardcover edition so that it would survive through much handling and repeat reading. I needed it to be strong for a research project I am doing, and when I received it, I could tell it was exactly what I wanted. I also appreciate the additional research material and photos contained in his issue!

A Reliable Copy of a Thoughtful Play
I love this game ''. I did an oral interpretation for every ladies'club in the neighborhood when I was in high school, and I never grew tired of it. I am now 72-and I am still not tired of it. I'm so pleased with several revivals just this year, and I knew that I need something stronger than my old, brown-paged scholastic copy.

Bought used, came in perfect condition.
I read this book first in high school, and I probably read it twice since then. I reread it just for 42. Even as a high schooler, I could feel the weight of this story. But as with most things, the meaning and significance of our town lands differently. The story is very human, as can happen in years and it can feel like nothing ever happens of massive significance. Most of us never win a Nobel Peace Prize, we won 't cure cancer or invent a life-saving treatment. We never write a masterpiece of literature that will be read and discussed long after our death. But our lives deeply mean something. This is somehow what Our Town is able to line up and deliver a simple, slow and simple life is everything.

Sturdy edition with room to annotate
I teach English to HS students. This copy is good with nice and sturdy margins for annotation. The page numbers correspond to the page numbers in the Perennial Classics paperback edition that used the students, which is vital in teaching.
