Great addition to my Outlander collection.
There is no way I make the most of these recipes. And as a collector's item : Gorgeous! The photos are magical and the quotes are stunning. I am so glad that I purchased it!
   A book of yum
The recipes are novel and inventive, but also reasonable to make. I usually look for cookbooks that are big on photography, while this one has great images, descriptions and titles of the recipes are so vivid that I can conceive the meals in my mind, which is a highlight of great writing. I am not familiar with the show, but really enjoy the rustic recipes.
Too Liberal & Not Historically Acurate
This cookbook is probably fabulous if your expectations are different than what I hoped for. I hoped that food items mentioned in the book would be translated into recipe form, and aren 't. The author mentions excerpts from the book, and some excerpts even don 't mention food. Another recipe didn 't exist until the 1970s, and others offer a twist on, what the book mentions. Danelli also wanted recipes from the first book of the outlanders for a viewing party, and there weren 't very many features in this cookbook. I wanted to love and was so excited for it. For these reasons this cookbook is not what I hoped it would be, and I am going to have to search the internet and look through the book to find what I am looking for.
Interesting recipes, feel like a Fraser
There are a lot of cool recipes out there. I can 't cook at all, but I was able to taste the two I tried and my roommate thought they were great!
   A cookbook and much more
While I cook more from necessity than enjoyment, I loved the tie-ins with the outlander passages and recipes. The author brings outlander facts and humor in historical favor, which would delight any outlander fan. It was only 2.99 on the Kindle and definitely worth it - I may even try some of the recipes to bring me back to my favorite series.
   Awesome Cookbook
Besides being a big outlander fan, this cookbook has excellent recipes for entertaining the family and friends. It is my go to cookbook to make delicious and foreign '' dishes. The author devotes a passage from a particular book in the book series Outlander and pairs it with each recipe.
It earned a favored spot in my "go to" cookbook collection
Sadly, I have never seen the show, but I bought the cookbook for fun to learn a little more about Scottish recipes. I am a part of the Scots and thought I should learn a little more. I was pleasantly surprised by this, I was very much said. This may become one of my favorite cookbooks to “ go to ”. I liked it so well, I am currently brining the turkey in the same recipe for Thanksgiving. From now on, the Oatmeal Bread will be a regular in my house. I am next going to try Mrs. Graham's Oatmeal Scones. I want to make the clotted cream to go with them, but may have to settle instead for good butter. Finding whipping cream that has not been ultrapasteurized is difficult to impossible. Totally changed my opinion about Scottish food.
A well written and easy to follow book. This has made me a happy camper.
Where do I start?! For some time, I have been a huge outlander fan. My hubby bought this book for me, knowing that I love the series. The baja fish tacos and the gingerbread and crud, together with the Crowdie cheese, are included. And it was easy to follow the instructions, SOO. I had to purchase some things I normally don 't like like cheesecloth and molasses, but that is okay because I know that I will use them again. And it doesn 't look like there are any ingredients that you will use and purchase only a small amount once. That is a big pet peeve of mine. The recipes are written very easily and are very easy to follow. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone looking for a delicious spread of easy to follow recipes. When you make these meals, you will impress your audience and family members. It is so beautifully written and I take it to my grave.
I have made several recipes in the book and each has been fabulous! I love the fact that there are excerpts from the book to go with the dishes that you prepare. Worth the money Definitely!
Absolutely delicious! I purchased this for a surprise Outlander ...
Absolutely delectable! '' I bought this for a surprise outlander party for my mother's birthday. My children read excerpts from the Outlander series for each item on the menu. When she walked into the door, we handed Jamie's Rusty Nail and served Murtagh's gift to Ellen. For dinner we feasted on Jenny's Hare Pie, Auld Ian's buttered leeks, Fergus'fried tates and Nettle Rolls! We ended our evening with Black Jack Randall's dark chocolate lava cake.
