Understand the dark side of your psyche--a Jungian approach to transformative self-acceptance.
We all have shadows--the unlit part of our ego that is hidden and never goes away, but merely--and often painfully--turns up in unexpected places. This powerful work from the acclaimed Jungian analyst and bestselling author of Inner Work and We explores our need to own our own shadow: learn what it is, how it originates, and how it impacts our daily lives. It is only when we accept and honor the shadow within us that we can channel its energy in a positive way and find balance.

It was so nice to read a book that is deep but easily understandable about my side shadow and how we can better interact with that part of ourselves. I want to read it again.

The book helped me understand my own behavior and internal life. One cannot truly experience the spirit without owning their shadow, he said.

Worth the read

This is a good read about your shadow life, but the writing style is a bit odd and stilted. There are a lot of good books out there, too.

Easy read for the lay person

My therapist has had great book recommendations, and this is one of them. It's a very insightful book, and it doesn't get too heavy on the psychological jargon for someone who isn't studying to be a therapist or psychologist. I've recommended his books to friends who are struggling with themselves or relationships.

Great looking book, but very little content.

In "Reclaiming and Making Peace with the Shadow Side of Our Personality," Blair reveals how we can both realize how to love ourselves and how to make peace with the shadow side of our personality. There were lots of interesting asides, but no in-depth analysis of Jung's shadow concept nor any strategies to make peace with anything.

Interesting takeaways but...

Thanks to the metaphors, anecdotes and myths presented in it, it helps simplify, visualize and understand real life's situations. On the other hand, I found it too much unbalanced in favor of the spiritual side of life interpretation, so I am not sure if the author has presented his thoughts with a validated and scientific point of view.

This is not a self help book.

The book tells the story of how the shadow came into being in the human psyche. He uses religious terms to bring it to life using 3D technology. If your own shadier self has problems with Christianity then you will get hung up on his illustrations. The more you think, the more you'll be joyed at the necessity of balance and tension that all the greats have alluded to.
