Most comprehensive writing of Padre Pio's life.

This book changed my spiritual walk and deepened it in ways I can 't explain. Padre Pio feels close to me. Of all the books or accounts I have read by Padre Pio, this is the most comprehensive and well written story of his life. He is a saint for our time and I believe he spends his eternity as a continuation of spiritual direction and assistance to those who become his spiritual children or ask for his intercession. As you read this book, you will see that this is a saint who walked from childhood to his death in the miraculous power of God.

VERY INSPIRING AND THOROUGH PRESENTATION OF THE LIFE OF SAINT PIO

I read Ruffin's first issue on the life of Saint Pio, which was exceptional. The first edition is also exceptional, but more organized in sections with a lot of new information that Ruffin gathered since the third edition. I am not a Catholic. I love Saint Pio, but I hate it. Saint Pio presents Ruffin as a human being with strengths and weaknesses. I really relate to the humanness of Saint Pio. The fact that Saint Pio has imperfections as a very holy man. This has enabled me to be more accepting of my humanness and limitations. I have also had chronic pain from a bad back for the last 45 years. I can relate to Saint Pio also suffering from chronic pain from the STIGMATA wounds for 50 years. Saint Pio '' is my friend. I have his picture in my living room, which inspires me to stay motivated on my spiritual journey through life.

I loved this book because it did not focus on the mystic part of his life that most books focused on. It provides a glimpse into his personal and family life, and those relationships. It has humanized him for lack of a better word and allows someone like myself to relate to such a great and holy person. It gives hope to all who aspire to be saints and live a holy and devout life, though we are all flawed. God bless the Lord.
