Book Overview

This artful first colors book introduces children to 9 basic colors and 20 shades of each. Readers will immerse themselves in the concept that one color name actually refers to a variety of dark, light, and in-between tones. Young children will begin by simply naming the colors of the monochromatic images and will soon grow to select their favorite and least-favorite shades. Pantone: Colors is a visually pleasing way to expand the colors conversation and develop a child's sense of visual discrimination.

Praise for Pantone: Colors
It's an evocative exploration of the nuances of color, in a polished, eye-catching package.
--Publishers Weekly

Your kiddos will be tickled pink by Pantone's extraordinary primer with nine basic colors in twenty glorious shades each. It's almost too hard to choose one favorite from the rainbow.

   Toddler likes it
This book is so simple, I almost forgot about it. He can't read it by himself, but I have read it to him and he has discussed the colors together, Ms. Caramore said. So far, this board book has held up pretty well for us, said Dr. Goin. If you liked this book, then you may also like the book Mix it Up by Herve Tullet.

   Beyond pleased with this purchase!
This book is the perfect companion to help toddlers learn their colors. In the book, children learn how to identify the difference between red and blue hues. Also, the book was very large, so I was expecting a lot more. Even with the added thickness, the cover is very strong and will not crack. Even though the pages are hard to turn at first, I'm sure it will be easier the more the book is used. In creating the book, I uploaded a picture of each page.

This is the best color book I have found
This is the best color book I have ever found. 0 1462228 3171 This is the best color book I have ever found. It shows different shades of each color so you can explain why there are different yellows, oranges and reds. It's going to be great for friends and family to give as shower gifts.

   Gorgeous Book!
This book is beautiful, vivid, and sturdy, Raymond said. It teaches children about colors and the names of the various shades that help the child associate common objects with color names. You really have to see it in person to appreciate it, so you should just buy it!

   Great book for learning colors!
My daughter absolutely loves the book. And I love that she still does, because she has that energy. The pictures are adorable, and we can learn the colors and names of the examples, like fish and bear. Each page shows a variety of reds, pinks, blues and other hues so she can learn to identify them.

   Could be improved
She said her son was fascinated by the different shades of colors. Most words are easy to read, but the white on yellow is too light, he said. To read the entire story, you would need to angle the page under bright light or put your eyes right up to it to see the words.

The colors are fun, the pictures are large so that most kids ...
This book is one of the highest quality board books I have purchased. My son loves to tear things up and stomp on them, his mom said. The pictures are large enough that most kids can see them. Overall, I would say it was an excellent product.

   Satisfied customer
Big fan. But I was worried that my two-year-old would be getting past this stage - she's known her colors for quite some time and bring me books with many more words than this has. But I'm a graphic designer, and darn it, I was going to get her book! She could barely pull herself away from this on Christmas. Good buy, says Gillian.

Geeking out at the coffee table
This book, although a bit short in the preface, is a really nice collaboration of decade and color, he said. Unless you have an unbelievably reliable computer, you may not get the book. Pantone makes no mistakes when it comes to their colors, and they have done well in this collection, too. I initially wanted to try new color schemes, but this is so much more and a great book for just you, too.
