   Rich with information!
I am the parent of a young adult who is autistic. The book is comprehensive yet concise and is also written in a warm and easy to read tone that is not overwhelming. It is the kind of tool that one might find themselves referring back to andor rereading, as certain details might be missed or might not have been relevant at the time the first read. For example, the author's consistent points about finding and maintaining ways to connect with your child and relate to them easily through the many supportive strategies included. It is the kind of thing I would have kept on my bookshelf and referred to at least during the first few years of our journey.

Knowledgeable author; perfect for those with newly diagnosed children
I really like how the author is so knowledgeable on this subject. It has been years since my child was diagnosed, so we are more experienced, but I wish I had this book when we found out just. Despite already having researched this topic extensively, I found in this book plenty of good info. It does address moderate cases and it specifically addresses the pitfalls of calling such children high functioning, however the majority of information is for those who are mild to severe. I would definitely recommend '' this book.

   Easy & informative read
I have used this book more as a reference book. I '' viewed the chapter dedicated to the education of a child. It is a good start for parent's who want to understand their child's educational options. It is easy to read and gives great ideas for those who are considering home schooling.

Practical guide for parenting autistic child
This book was a practical guide for the parenting of a child on the autism spectrum. Our child is older, but this would have been very appropriate for a newly diagnosed child's parents. It includes information on managing expectations, being flexible, taking care of yourself, how to navigate your marital relationship and other siblings in the house, and so much more. The concepts were simple and straightforward, and so very important to know when an autistic child is going into parenting.
