The internationally bestselling book that inspired the Pay It Forward movement is now available in a middle grade edition.

Pay It Forward is a moving, uplifting novel about Trevor McKinney, a twelve-year-old boy in a small California town who accepts his teacher's challenge to earn extra credit by coming up with a plan to change the world. Trevor's idea is simple: do a good deed for three people, and instead of asking them to return the favor, ask them to pay it forward to three others who need help. He envisions a vast movement of kindness and goodwill spreading across the world, and in this quiet, steady masterpiece with an incandescent ending (Kirkus Reviews), Trevor's actions change his community forever.

This middle grade edition of Pay It Forward is extensively revised, making it an appropriate and invaluable complement to lesson plans and an ideal pick for book clubs, classroom use, and summer reading. Includes an author'snote and curriculum guide.

This is one of my favorite stories and I am happy that it came out ...
This is one of my favorite stories and I am happy that it came in a young reader edition. This book will probably be on my list of read aloud this year. It is so heartwarming to hear a message that will stay with you for a long time. Trevor is such a big kid, no nonsense kid, with a likable heart. His plan seems so simple, yet our learned skepticism fills us with doubt and our faith in others is minimal. This story becomes our inspiration for our projects by Genius Hour, inspiring kids to make a difference in their world today. No idea is too simple or too small ; it takes just a strong heart and mind to make it happen. Our students are our future and this book is a powerful influence on the part of students to make it happen.

I have read this book multiple times already. I ...
I have already read this book several times. I think that this book should be on the must-read list of schools. It is positive, while still realistic. A little boy wants to change the world, one step at a time with something he can do. He faces setbacks and challenges on the way, but somehow he does change the world of people.

   Excellent story for all ages.
A very good book, written by a most excellent author. Catherine Ryan Hyde is a remarkable author who captures easily the essence of an idea and creates a love for her characters. One of us comes away inspired to pay it forward! This is a good book to read to your children or with your children, and that is after you can actually put it down after reading it yourself.

A Should Read book and a great gift for any age. Especially lovely as a shared reading experience!
A wonderful edition for EVER! I purchased several copies for gifts and one for my elementary school for my granddaughters. In our world today, we can never be reminded that the individual can make a difference. I wish I could send one to everyone!

Great idea for all, but book not quite as straightforward as possible
Great idea, beautiful book, but too deep for young readers. Many of the students in the literary club I manage had a hard time discerning all the overlapping stories and are advanced readers for the middle school. They really glom on the idea of Pay it Forward and took this home though.

   Where it All Began
One of my favorite authors is Catherine Ryan Hyde. It is easy to see why this remarkable story has launched a film, a foundation and an inspiring writing career.

   Nice
It is a book, so that reviewing it is subjective for quality and price. My daughter enjoyed it so I give it a positive review. It seems to be a quality product and the content is appropriate for age.

Great book, for young readers or adult resders
A wonderful book that helps us become better humans by paying it forward. The author lets you imagine what might come next and you may be right. The adult readers - addition ending is preferred over the young readers - version.

This is a great book to teach students about empathy and compassion
This is a great book to teach students to teach empathy and compassion. They have heard all the benefits of paying it forward and now they have learned the story behind the concept. While this is the children's version of the story, it really does not lose any power and influence behind it, Pay it Forward. The character development and plot are well thought out.
