Not the same without Eric Litwin
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
The Pete the Cat books without Eric Litwin as an author just isn't the same. It's missing the fun little jingle that was written into the first Pete the Cat books.

What happened to Eric Litwin?
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
I am a speech teacher whose students have been loving the books! The book was originally written by Eric Litwin, not Pete Cat and His Magic Sunglasses. My students as well as the other staff members noticed right away! This book is too wordy and abstract for my students, does not reach a logical conclusion, and is missing the appealing rhythm that Eric Litwin was so skilled at creating. It's too bad for my students, too bad for the Eric Litwin-James Dean team. You guys had a very special thing going there.

The whole thing is a travesty, the kindergarten teacher and mom said. I LOVE PETE! It's just that she's 20 months old. Pete has an amazing attitude, great message to share and we LOVE watching the videos too!

Mediocre Magic
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
5 stars for the illustrations 1 star for the nepotism. Yes, you want to support your spouse and from reading a few articles Kimberly Dean is an aspiring novelist not a children's writer. In her book, "The Little Prince," McCartney laments, "There is a writer who writes about children's literature, but doesn't do it." The first two books had magic they flowed and captured kids attention from the start. Although a decent book it pales in the shadow of the original writer but it will remain a hit as long as Pete remains the same. From my understanding it was James' insistence on having his wife write the new books that made Litwin leave. James Dean would feel so happy if Eric Carle was a good friend of mine that he could have him create new illustrations for Pete the Cat while you take a back seat. Ironically Dean's writing talent is not nearly as good as Carle's. They don't yet understand adult drama but still have to deal with mediocre books because of it.

Pete is well loved! Grandkid approved!

Pete is the one who made all the kids love him. I send my son a new book every other week and Pete is one of their favorites if not number 1!!! It's great to see kids still enjoy a real book not a digital one. Such a fun game!
