Pete the Cat: Snow Daze has a great message to read
All kids look forward to a snow day once in a while, it’s a change of pace, and provides a sense of freedom from the grind of being a Preschool through 3rd Grade schoolchild. In the 32 pages of this "My First I Can Read" is a book with wonderful word play and whimsical paintings describing a story of too many snow days in a row. After many days of cancelled school and snow days, the usually cheerful Pete the Cat discovers that the routines of ordinary school days aren’t too bad after all. Pete’s positive attitude certainly always invites fun in the snow and explorations with his many friends, but he learns in this book that too much of a good thing isn’t as satisfying as the usual variety of life.
My brother thinks that this is a great book for babies.
my daughter loves pete the cat book
An early Christmas present for my 7 yr old that loves Pete the cat books and she enjoyed trying to read it herself but struggled a little bit so this will help her build her reading up.
   So many snow days
The book was funny on snow days. My daughter enjoyed reading this with me. Great k-2
   Good lesson
The pete the cat book is nice. They are excited about having a snow day, but when the snow days continue, they miss school and have to clear their path to get back to school. They are going back to school to tell their friends what they did on snow day. It shows snow days can be fun, but also that you can miss school.
   Great book for Beginning Readers!
If you have Pete the Cat, this is a great addition to your collection. My child loves reading Pete's I Can Read. This book is just as good as the rest. It is filled with sight words many kindergarteners are learning, but it also has some words they must sound out using phonemic awareness The book is a great read.
The older books like "white shoes and groovy buttons" era are much better ...
White shoes and groovy buttons from that era are written better in older books. My opinion is that books in that time period are better and smaller.
