The interactive flaps make this a fun read!!!

Personally, I am not a huge fan of Pete's artwork in his James Dean '' The Cats series, but the overall message in each story is a lot of fun and simple to grasp for very young readers. In particular, this book is a lot of fun because it is a pop-up, pull-out book that is very interactive with children. I would recommend with children who are slightly older or have more hand control because the flaps can tear with rough usage.

Flaps are very easy to rip
Derived From Web , Dec 2, 2019
My 3 year old likes Pete the cat, but this one was made cheaply. Even if you are careful, it is easy to rip and ruin.

Lacking!
Derived From Web , Nov 25, 2019
As long as they hold, children will probably enjoy the hidden picture flaps. The original stories of the cat author are much better. I believe that this is written by the illustrator, who lacks the talent and understanding of what makes good literature for children. Disappointed overall ''.

Fast shipping is not a substitute for damaged products!
Derived From Web , Oct 9, 2019
Not happy with the bubble wrap shipping container, the book was damaged almost every page is punctured. My new 3 year old does not know its broken book, just wants to read her broken book. The book is a good pull-tab story, a fun Halloween story.

Love these books
Derived From Web , Dec 11, 2018
This was bought for our first grader. She had to write a book report and decorate a pumpkin to go with it. She loved this book, made an adorable black cat pumpkin and got a great grade! This series is awesome! My 12 year old read them when he was little, and my youngest loved them too! I will pass them to the baby, to save them all.

Thin on story, thick on Halloween
Derived From Web , Nov 1, 2018
My son and I are on this particular sort of Meh. We like several of Pete the Cat books, but this one just didn't capture his attention quite as much. I do appreciate that common Halloween images were used to show that they are not scary and can be explained, but not our favorite Pete overall.

not as good as the other Pete books
Derived From Web , Sep 25, 2018
Ok, I shaved a star because this was not as clever and rhyme-y as the other Pete the Cat books we own, but my 3.5 year old still enjoyed this one. I also think that the flaps are hard to read and also to open. I don 't think that this will be a huge hit for long, like the other more classic Pete books.

Great Quality and Value
Derived From Web , Sep 3, 2017
Pete is as sassy and cute in this Halloween story as ever. My six-year-old grandson loves Pete and can 't get enough reading as a result of Pete's antics and comments. I am also impressed with the level of vocabulary they use in the non-beginning reader books. There are lots of good words to add to his speaking vocabulary as well as his visual vocabulary. The beginning reading books are also well written and supportive of an emerging reader.

Just okay. The book is quite flimsy and the story is eh.
Derived From Web , Aug 15, 2017
The flaps on this book are awkward and flimsy. They are easily ripped. However, the pictures are great. I wish that the authors would return to the original format of the musical books. Most of the ones, including this one, that don 't capture the collaboration with Eric Litwin are just not of the same caliber of creativity or engagement.
