It's a super cute (and tiny) box set
Pinkalicious's adventures are read by a 5 year old who loves them. I wanted her to start reading on her own. There are 12 books in total. The packaging is a bit misleading. It looks like you're getting more than you really are, because the box is filled with a spacer that fills the empty space with books. I don't know what it was.

She stated its a little easy for her
My child is 5 years old and she likes this. It really depends on your skill set, but she stated it was easy for her.

   Great books!
The sight word books my daughter has at school helped her learn to read. The ones that the school uses were expensive to buy. I was looking up pinkalicious items on Amazon when I stumbled upon these. I was very excited to see that they are similar to the books at school. She was so excited to open them. I was able to help her with the words she didn't know because she knew them all.

   Excited About Reading
I ordered the book for my niece. She went to Jamaica with them. She spread them out to display on the first night she was there. I believe in creating excited readers and teach 2nd grade. When they see books they like they are more excited to read. When my niece asked for books, I sent her a Pete the Cat set that she loved. The fall. I knew these would be a great inexpensive gift.

   These are not phonics readers
I bought these for my six-year-old. I'm a certified teacher and I can assure you that these aren't readers of the alphabet. The interest level and length of the books is geared towards kindergarteners, but almost every single page includes words that can't be easily read phonetically and are far above the reading level of most K1 students. If you want young children to be able to read, you should stick with books that are short for Robert. My daughter was excited about these because she wanted something more "girly" to read.

I got this for my niece who is learning to read. As soon as she opened them, she wanted to start reading.

Cute but duplicate book in our set.
Cute books for new readers. We got 11 books instead of 12 because we had two of the same book in our box.

   Not phonics readers
The books are in the set. I was expecting the books to focus on one short vowels at a time, with very simple words. The books are usually simplistic and only have a few words to make a difference. There are a lot of sight words, silent e words, blends, digraphs, and words that are too difficult for beginners. The instructions tell you to read the books to your child first and then point out the individual words that they might be able to sound out. It's not a bad idea when you're child is learning to read, but I already do that with other books. I would think that a reader would use phonetic words to tell a story.

   Perfect!
The books are great for beginners. I got this set for my kindergartener because she wanted to read at home. There are sight words in the beginning of the book The words are used in the book. It was easy for her to read the rest of the book after we covered sight words a few times. She wanted to read another book. This set is perfect for us! ?

Really helps her understand letters and words
The product is great. A three year old can already sound out words. She will be reading soon.
