Do Yourself (and your children) A Favor
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
In this culture, there is SO much talk about self-confidence and overcoming fear and anxiety. But no one really tells you how to do this, REALLY. Release the true will by doing nothing! The place to start is now right here by doing nothing at all! No need to slay a dragon, punch an enemy, earn a bazillion bucks or lose weight. Don 't tell anyone about this. It is the greatest secret of them all. Oh, give yourself and your loved ones a favor rest!

American Society could learn alot from "Planting Seeds"
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
Our materialistic and violence - addicted American society can learn a lot from practicing mindfulness with children. Our church uses these methods with our program for Christian education at Play and teachers and children love it. Parents tell us that behavior is also improving at home and school as children learn to cope with stress.

Food for thought for a mindful life with children
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
As you would expect from Thich Nhat Hanh, it is thoughtful and wise. I love this book and often refer to it for inspiration. I find there is a nice balance between practical hands-on activities you can do with your children and inner work for parents. The sweet posters in the back are so small and perfect for displaying in a child's room.

Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
It comes with a really nice music CD that kids love to listen to. It has a guided meditation on the cd. by children. It has really brought our family close together and taught my children to be more mindful and empathic. Regardless of what religion you are from, I highly recommend it.

Good book
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
I love Thich Nhat Hanh so I had to order his book for children. I thought this would be a children's book, but it is actually a book for me to teach mindfulness with my kids. I have not yet read a lot of this book, but notice that it would be very good if you teach a class or a group of children. It is a great resource book and can be read either straight through or you can jump and skip to pertinent information. I am really glad I bought this book, and will get a lot of use out of it.

but good. I took up meditation recently and find it ...
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
I recently took meditation and find it so beneficial ''. If children were introduced to practice at an early age, it would be a positive. In our increasingly busy world, it is good to know how to wind down and enjoy our blessings.

Good beginning for young children
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
The book is well organized and is easy to assimilate. Currently I use one of the songs on the CD to practice deep breathing with a youngster. It has proven very helpful to him and in a session he nearly put himself to sleep at the end of the song. Listen, listen. The overall CD quality has been disappointing, but there are a few tracks that I use more often.

Very practical!
Derived From Web , May 22, 2022
In this book, I found constructive discussions and activities that I can share about spirituality with my 5 year old and 3 year old. This is written by a Zen Buddhist, and there are Buddhist references, but so much of the activity is non-denominational. Like holding your finger under your nose to learn to describe what feels like an inhalation and an out breath. Or a prayer for dinner time talking about the appreciation of the source of food, to take only what you can eat. Or an activity to collect a pebble bag and sew pebbles for the pebble meditation. There is also a CD where I pulled a few songs onto our kid play list and sang along on a regular basis. I pushed myself to be my spiritual teacher of children, while Kindergarden will be his achademic teachers, and this book has been an excellent reference!

Amazing book.
Derived From Web , Dec 14, 2021
Excellent material, and I started just barely. I have another book by the author, Happiness in four Pebbles, and works amazingly well for my 3-6 year old students. When our catechesis of the good shepherds find it hard to sit still, I just pull out a bag of pebbles and they come around immediately. I knew that this book would be calming and the stories at the beginning are somehow amazing. And as well, fast and excellent service from the seller.

Small family. Momma, baby, papa. Works for us
Derived From Web , May 17, 2019
A great book. Information is good for Tons of stuff. An excellent introduction to the practice of mindful living and meditation. Daily - Ideas for implementing these principles into good life. It is easy to adapt the concepts for use in a household. Some of the CD captures seem to be recorded live during a retreat. Others are of better quality. From it, I learned quite a few songs. We can only sing them without the cd, so the quality didn 't really bother me. The pleasant meditations are also guided.
