Very disappointed, I will be returning

I purchased this because of the reviews, but I am disappointed and return. The photographs do not provide an adequate display of the described boardersplatters. For example, the Lazy dinner shows a photograph of heirloom tomatoes on one plate and another sparse plate of what appears to be some sliced green bell peppers with a giant arrow pointing to a tomato-thyme jam. And this is supposed to be dinner? And this is supposed to be? Most of the photos of the foods are heavily overeached with text and cross two pages, bound by book binding in the middle. I want to see what it is that I am creating and this book does not deliver. I have no idea what the recipes are like, but if I saw this book on the shelf in a bookstore, I would never have bought it. Beautiful boards, I highly recommend them as a far superior product.

This book is an excellent primer for anyone new to platters. It would be an excellent gift to any person new to entertaining, as the pictures are beautiful, it is loaded with useful information and full of delicious recipes.

I am not sure that you can call this a cookbook. It is just deconstructing meals, placing all ingredients in individual bowls and then adding some nuts and cheese. Oh, and serve it up on a board or a platter. Think about a Taco bar or ice cream sundae bar and you've got the gist of it. Very elementary. Very '' elementary.

What is Halloween about the Halloween board?

TL. TL. TL. A lot of the boards are nice, but I don 't know if you need a book for this. And I was very disappointed with the Halloween board. I bought the Kindle version excitedly when I saw there was a Halloween board and then scrolled excitedly to the Halloween board. This looks like any basic fall board, with some figs, pears and cheese to go with it. The unique feature of this board is the honeycomb, though I can 't tell you how that has anything to do with Halloween. There are a lot of ways to make grown-up versions of things for Halloween while still keeping a touch of fancy and fun. It would be so easy to make white ghosts out of a little cheese or spread a jar of pumpkin on the board for goodness sake. Nice photography though.

A bit too twee

I bought this book immediately after seeing it and thinking it could be something I'd be interested in... and then arrived and I decided that the execution is just not there. I am not the demographic that this book is geared towards nor do I really want to read about the couple's predictable she's vegetarian and he's not schtick throughout the book. I have not looked at their instagram nor am I interested in how many followers they have or don 't have. I really wanted to try some great recipes similar to a German brotzeit with an American, international or themed slant. It is meant to be a cookbook, not just another way to monetize their blog or schilling whatever it is. The whole package is just lackluster. If you are not into arranging pre-packaged things, I would suggest checking one of the other board style books that is available.

We gave this book to a family member who is a millennial and very knowledgeable about food and nutrition. She loved the book as a birthday present! A few weeks later she bought a recipe from the book and we selected these ingredients for her family Christmas dinner. In this recipe, every generation found something to love, even the little ones! Photos of this book and the cheese board are now on the family album in the cheese board. My thanks to you for such a beautiful book!
