   Granddaughter's new favorite book
The illustrator presents the scenes with such energy that you feel part of the action as two unruly children spend a day with their beautiful puppy. This became my 21-month-old granddaughter's favorite book quickly. She would exclaim, he is getting out!, when the puppy headed for the loose board in the fence, and, Oh no! When the puppy takes a mud bath, it is Mud!! It is a short, lovely book and great for interactive reading with a toddler.

   Excellent Book!
They are so realistic that my kid referred to them as '' photos . And yet there is warm poetry in them. And the story is also very good. I read it to my adopted child together with No MAtter What '' because it basically tells the same story, whichever act you put on, I will always be there for you. A reassurance that adopted children need to hear from time to time, no matter what.

So much fun, and gorgeous art
But I guarantee that you can read the words puppy and say as many times as they are written in this book, so I recommend you get this book before your children can read, so that you won 't notice some of the repetitions!

   So much fun!
I bought this book as a fun loving book for my 3 yo children. I bought it because they are afraid to read a book about dogs. As we would sit and read it, they enjoyed it, but with the baby we came to sit and read with us. Then came the big sister, who is learning to read to help read some of the pages... before long it was a family book. The pictures are delhful and really draw you in. The children loved the repetitive phrase and it does not seem out of line with them. This is no longer a standard birthday presenter. We also recently gotten Dear, Baby, Please, and enjoy it as well.

   lovely illustrations, odd text
This book has cute illustrations and rambunctious sentences of commands that two adorable toddlers request from their rambunctious puppy, but the puppy, please found at the end of each sentence are just too awkward for me. My two year old seemed to like the book, but I didn 't really enjoy reading it that much.

   Please, read it, please!
As a librarian of youth services, I am responsible for the toddler storytime and I am constantly looking for books that work well with large groups. This book is perfect : Even wet, curious ones who are scared of dogs can appreciate the joy of a young puppy. The repetition and rhythm keeps the kids engaged, while the large, playful pictures are easy to share even when my group is huge. The illustrations are some of the best I have seen. I plan to use this book as often as I can and I will purchase a copy for my personal library.

   BIG Thumbs Up!
My overly active 20 month old loves this book and will sit quietly for an entire reading... until we finish at which point she will throw a tantrum because the story is over. The illustrations are delightful and the rhythm of the text is beautiful and captivating. Lees does great work, capturing the imagination. In the future, I will keep my eye out for more from you guys.

Gorgeous illustrations; stupid and annoying text
The illustrations are just beautiful and I love that the main characters are African-American children. The only reason I decided not to buy this book after reading it with a friend is the incredibly annoying and repetitive text. I think I would read this just over and over to my toddler. I wish the lyrics were better thought out because if it were, this book would be such a winner.

   MISSING PAGES!
I did not appreciate the book having skipped pages and the cover page being bent and folded in half. I am very disappointed ''.

   Such a cute book.
My three yr old nephew just loved this book. Wanted to consider it and often have it read to him. It also took to Grandma's house!
