Teddy Fitzroy's back for another zoo mystery--this time it's a koala caper--in this action-packed follow-up to Belly Up that School Library Journal called a whopper of a whodunit that delivers plenty of suspects, action, slapstick, gross bodily functions, red herrings, and animal trivia.

School troublemaker Vance Jessup thinks Teddy Fitzroy's home at FunJungle, a state-of-the-art zoo and theme park, is the perfect place for a cruel prank. Vance bullies Teddy into his scheme, but the plan goes terribly awry.

Teddy sneaks into the koala exhibit to hide out until the chaos dies down. But when the koala goes missing, Teddy is the only person caught on camera entering and exiting the exhibit.

Teddy didn't commit the crime--but if he can't find the real culprit, he'll be sent to juvie as a convicted koala-napper.

Poached is a fun, entertaining, barrel of laughs!
A fun, entertaining, barrel of laughs! I could not stop reading. Yes, I had a really good laugh during the koala death scene. Don't worry it is really not that bad and no real koalas were hurt during this part, the trainer said. Teddy is not that great of a spydetective but this is what makes this book so much fun to read, Ellison said. It is because of all of the trouble that he finds himself in that makes things interesting, he says. Any kid who reads this book is going to want to live at an amusement park. It sounds like an idea that I would want to live at one as well. There are many eccentric characters in this book. The author did a good job with this book. It's great to keep it fun but also easy to read for the target audience of the younger readers. I had so much fun reading this book that I am going to go back and check out the prior novels.
   Fun book
This was a very enjoyable book for me and my 8 year old daughter to read together. It's about a kid who gets wrongly accused and ends up solving the mystery to prove his innocence. It was a fun book that had some good lessons for my child, said Jennette Tamayo. We used to talk about bullying and about people who did it. Overall, the book was well-read and was very fun to read. It was not as heavy and dark as many of these books seem to be these days. I also liked that it was long, over 300 pages, when so many kids books are really short and seem to go by so fast. It was good for her to read something longer, and of course it's a lot more value for your money. The writing was good. We both enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to anyone.
My kid loved it and wants more from author Stuart Gibbs
My 11 year old son loved this book by Stuart Gibbs. It was a quick and engaging read, Glover said. Strong arms classmate Teddy goes down with a prank that goes awry. Teddy lives at a zoo and park theme that serves as the perfect place from the prank Vance has thought up. Teddy is left looking for the culprit when things go wrong. The story of how Teddy becomes the target in a missing koala caper left me wanting more. He has moved on to other mysteries by Stuart Gibbs. When a kid is interested in summer reading, he or she automatically gets extra points. It's great to be back home, said Blair.
   Fun, quick read
Belly Up seems to start later. I haven't read the book, but had no problem following the events of yesterday. He is still living at FunJungle with his parents. He ends up being the prime suspect thanks to a series of misadventures by the Koala Patrol. Teddy must clear his name before he lands in juvie. There's a bit of science, a bit of humor, and a bit of life lessons all mixed together in this mystery. This book is a fast paced read and I think the recommended age of 8-12 is fairly spot on.
Staying true to the original, Stuart Gibbs has once again created a phenomenal kids book with lots of humor, drama, action, and many twists and turns that left me stunned. In this sequel to Belly Up, Jungle is slowly going out of business after the murder of Henry the Hippo. The billionaire, JJ McCracken, manages to save the zoo by getting a koala on loan from Australia. But then the koala, named Kazoo, gets stolen - or, poached - and all the evidence points to a likable young boy named Teddy Fitzroy. Teddy must prove his innocence or get the koala back, or he and the zoo are both doomed. Once again, author Gibbs hits it out of the park. He is one of my very favorite writers. I can't wait for his next one!!!!! It's great to be back home, said Blair.
   Love this!
I am not a book fan, but when I read this and belly up, I will stay up till 12 in the morning to read these books! I love these books, the animals with the drama and suspense are just a perfect mix! I recommend these books to animal lovers and people who like mysteries!
   hey one star people

   Great book.
Amazing book filled with a ton of action and suspense. Anyone who likes a good mystery will enjoy this book.
   The fun continues
This is the second book in the series and might be my favorite of all of them so far. The comedy in these books does a great job of helping to draw the audience into the storyline, regardless of the audience's age. My husband and I originally started reading this with our 9 year old son, but his 14 and 17 year old sisters also enjoy listening as we read. I am just as excited to find out more about the story each night as our son is, and the books do a great job of helping to teach the audience about the animals in the story, along with the perils they face in the wild, he said. Once we are done with the series we will absolutely be moving on to Mr. Gibbs other series. These are the books that help my son learn to read.
   This book was great!
This book is great for anyone who likes a good book not only about animals but also about awesome mysteries, Raymond said. Before you can read the rest of the series, you must have read the first book.
