Book Overview

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Hopeless and Losing Hope.

Sometimes two people have to fall apart to realize just how much they belong together.
Colleen Hoover entranced readers everywhere with her bestselling novel Slammed, the book that introduced Layken and Will, a young couple whose love overcame devastating hardships to emerge stronger and more resilient than before. Now, as Layken and Will s emotion-packed story continues, a stunning and unforeseen revelation about Will s past leaves them questioning everything that they thought they knew about each other. With the foundation of their relationship at risk, they must decide whether they are willing to fight for a future together, or to retreat back into solitude and heartache.
How far does Will have to go to prove to Layken his love for her will last forever? It will require something truly extraordinary to keep this couple together, and the decisions they make and the answers they find will change not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.
Colleen Hoover's second novel is just as brilliant and entertaining as Slammed. Point of Retreat is absolute poetry. Jamie McGuire, author of Beautiful Disaster

   Pretty Good
I read the first book in this series and fell in love with the characters and the story line, so I was excited that there was a second to keep the story going, she said. I did like the story, but I was disappointed in where it was written. Overall, it was still pretty good, but, coming from Will's point of view, Layken came across as a childish, often selfish brat. If you loved the first book, I would recommend it, but it was not as good as the second.

   Just as boring as Slammed
So many people have rated this book five stars, and I am confused. Bad Gatsby says Slammed was a boring book. If I had not purchased them separately, I would have never read them. Layken and Story could have been more exciting had there been more going on in their lives. It's just that they are both in college, but never do anything fun other than make out." It's just that they never have sex," repeated Chante Jawaon. These characters have GREAT SELF CONTROL, even when they get hot and heavy with each other, he said. But I am not saying I wanted to read about them getting busy all the time. I just wanted something realistic, Raymond said. The two other teens who practice abstinence because of a promise made to Layken's dying mother are what you will read about. Its a sweet gesture of good will, but it also carries with it the added weight of SOOO BORING! I personally think that the poetry in Slammed was better. The second half hour of the program aired on Tuesday, April 23 at 8 p.m.

   Another wonderful read.
Like Slammed, this book is a real, affirming, wonderful love story _ not just of romantic love, but of love between family and friends. Only because the grammatical errors took me out of the story did I give it four stars. The author must, must, must learn two basic points of grammar. The proper use of me vs. the client, he said. The proper use of possessive and conjunctive apostrophes I hate to be one of people, but if you are a professional writer there is no excuse for not having those basics down. He also said Blair should have been firmly entrenched in the story. But this, it really is a wonderful story that I recommend to anyone with any semblance of a heart.

I butterfly love this series so butterflyin much!!
The second book goes hand and hand with the first. It was a book that had me laughing off my butterfly. Colleen Potter, who died Sunday, was an inspiring and outspoken slam poet. I still want to see poetry slam in person. If I had to shout the poem, I would actually shout it as I read it. He also stars in a revival of "Will and Grace." The whole cast was hilarious, witty, and I felt relatable to all of them, Morgenthau said. I don't know what to say other than BUY IT NOW, Mr. Butterfinger said. The frosting is so sweet and no suck!

   Favorite book- EVER!
And I read a lot. When I came across Colleen Hoover's book, I was impressed but not sure if I wanted to start the next book. The change in perspective was confusing for a few pages, but then I started processing it slower and started to enjoy Will's perspective even more than Lake's. If you've ever had a fight with your boyfriend where he just didn't understand what he did wrong or how he could fix it, then you'll absolutely appreciate reading this from a male's viewpoint. I cried nearly every chapter while reading this book because I couldn't believe how real the characters were. The climax of the book is a gripping event. Even if I die, I don't think I'll forget this story for the rest of my life.

Emotionally drained in the best way.
Yes, I will love cooper. Like, really love him. It was the easiest part for Lake and Will. It was also a time to think about why their love was so hard, she said. My heart broke twice during this story, the second time for every character in this book. It has since mended in the best butterfly way possible. There were tears of sadness and joy.

   Unnecessary Dramaticals
Note the subheading of this terrible parable in the "Five Days" series, "Sometimes a story doesn't need a sequel." There are just a handful of times in history when the government would actually do something about it. I've loved it, and I think it was great to see it end. Now I can't take back knowing what I know, Mr. Rule told the judge. The writing was still good, the characters the same, but it wasn't necessary. It was, as a student of mine, an unnecessary dramatical event. If you are gaga for Slammed, then read it. It doesn't really offer anything fresh and it's lacking in the slams I've loved so much in the first installment. It's told from Will's perspective which is why it got three stars. Sorry this review is so short, I just didn't want to devolve into a bitch-fest, so I'm leaving it at that.

   ah!
i discovered hoover by accident lol but im super happy i did. i read this book a little after my dad had died and its about this girl who has her mom and little brother and they just lost her dad so suddenly and moved closer to her mom friend only to find out she has breast cancer and needs treatment. When they move she doesn't expect to find the love of her life so young. It's just that instant, they fall in love, Rosenbaum said. He has been through somthing alike losing his parents and having to raise his little brother. they become close and learn to deal with things together and are just there for one another and fall in love, and believe me you will cry! Its amazing what a difference a bullet can make. It's great to be back home, said Blair.

Glad I Got Over My First Impression of this Series!
When I first saw the summary about the story line, I was a little put off and did not think it was the story for me. I am so glad I did because the first book was fabulous and the second book was even better, Anne Hathaway said. This is a book that gets forgotten once you're done with it. I've had a lot of great experiences with both, and I'm thrilled with the 5 stars. A new book about the Beatles, "The Beatles: The Touring Years" by Simon & Schuster.

   LOVED THIS BOOK!!
This was a great second book, too. I'm so glad we got to see the world through Will's eyes, Rosa said. I also enjoyed the addition of several other characters, he said. I've had a crush on him ever since." Who wouldn't love little brothers like that? It was great to see Eddie back with his family and I also enjoyed getting a glimpse of Will's grandma and grandpaul. I don't want to spoil the story, but I will say it had highs and lows, Bruno said. My suck was the book ending, my sweet was getting to read it and have the peace of mind in knowing things worked out themselves in the end. I've never met a butterfly, but I'm a big fan of Roald's books. It's just that they call it quits."
