The book is good. The audio version has a major flaw, no Chapter names in the Table of Contents, which makes it hard to find the right meditation. Many audio books have Chapter names in the table of content. The update will make the book usable.

There are practices to reduce stress. I wanted to try a different approach to practicing. The author begins to practice visual practice with the spaces around the body, then he begins to practice with the various parts of the body. Remembering a song. Each step is its own meditation. So far, so good, just started the book. It's just a suggestion to try it, no instructions to do anything.

The book is a practical guide to meditation and relaxation. I often incorporateMindfulness techniques into my therapy practice as a therapist. I like the fact that I can guide a client through the exercise in a chapter that is relevant to them. It's easy to show them the steps so they can practice on their own. I like the reminder to practice engagedMindfulness. I was reminded to stay grounded while I was working on my daily tasks by the entire section on working withMindfulness in daily life. I would recommend the book to anyone who is interested in meditation.

I have meditated for a few years and have attended a retreat course, so I am not new to meditation. I have always found it hard to explain the essence ofMindfulness to my friends. The book presents a very useful, understandable and accessible discussion of the various aspects ofMindfulness. I've read that part a few times. The exercises that comprise the bulk of the book are familiar to me as a somewhat experienced meditator, but still are nice reminders of the various aspects of meditation. For me, four stars, and likely five stars for someone just starting to explore meditation, which would be quite valuable.

I've read a lot of books on Buddhism and meditation. The general info in these books is almost cookie-cutter from book to book. The book is all about how to slip into meditation practice without having to worry about ego defense. The author's writing style is so easy to read that one can easily drift into a healing meditation session. I am so grateful to have encountered this book and trust that it will lead many people into a fulfilling lifestyle filled with the healing power of meditation practice... The book is a balm for the mind. There is peace.
