   Too many printing errors....:-(
The index is completely off, wrong instructions for a lot of blocks... My conclusion is that no one read it before it was published...

   Errors make this a disappointing purchase.
This would have been a delightful addition to my library, except that the index is inaccurate. Also, both pages and blocks are numbered, so that you are left for yourself if the numbers in the index refer to block numbers or page numbers. The book is beautiful and well illustrated and the blocks are colorful. However, because of the errors in the index, I would not trust any of the directions without first checking them for accuracy. I have not looked at the accompanying PDFs on the disc for accuracy because I purchased the book just. I went to both the Quiltmaker Home Page and the Fons and Porter Home Page and could not find any errata list which I would have expected they would publish since they surely must have heard it now. I was very happy for the savings on Amazon and Prime, I would be very upset if I had paid the full retail price of the book.

   Beautiful quilt blocks, suffers from poor editing...
The quilt blocks in this wonderful compilation of Quiltmaker magazine are extensive. An index of quilt blocks by name is critical with a thousand quilt blocks. The only index is an index of the contributors and this index is off by two pages. One of the wrong photos in the book is block. It is a shame that sloppy editing distracts from the usefulness of this book.

   erros throughout
Unfortunately, this book needs to be revised or something. There are errors throughout the blocks that don't match directions, etc. It is really a beautiful book minus the errors.

   Nice color and printing, but frustrating waste of time to use.
When I tried to find it later, I could not because there is no index for the blocks. There is an index for designers, but I could not remember who designed the block I liked. I had to look through the book twice to find the block I wanted. If you buy this book, I recommend that you get some old-fashioned paper bookmarks and put them in the book next to the blocks you might be interested in.

   Wonderful resource
The only fault is in the designer - index. My copy lists blocks by the designer only if I want to actually go to that block, I found that I have to add 2 pages to the listed page in the index. Bonnie Hunter is listed for a block on Page 111. All other designers are also 2 pages beyond the actual page on which they are listed. As long as I remember to add 2 pages to the index page number, I can find blocks by the designer. It would be nice if blocks were also indexed by name.

   How disappointing/ comes with a CD
I have 2 Chromebooks, a MacBook Pro, a $ 2500 laptop for sketching and NONE OF THEM has a CD drive. It is 2021... who even uses CDs anymore? I am nearly 40, I bought a boom box and had single cassette tapes when I was a teenager. Do you want to put the instructions on one of these too?

   I really like the block design and pattern in the book
I really like the shape and the pattern in the book. What I do not like is that there are no detailed descriptions and how to use them in the book. It also refers to the CD rom and there I see a problem. Most new notebooks don't have CD - ROM drives anymore and there is no reference where files could be downloaded. I also wanted to check the stitch and turn reference in the technique section referred to in the book. Where's the ad-hoc reference anywhere on the CD? Sadly, I think that the terrible patterns promise, the instructions in substance are lacking.

   Fantastic Book!
I read reviews about the problems of coordinating the pattern with the CD... they must have reprinted and proofed because mine is exactly. The book says the pattern is on page 113 of the CD...I find it on page 113. How perfect that you can print a pattern for foundation - piecing and go right to work. I use right on the copy paper to sew smaller stitches. Beautiful, full colored photographs -- a great value on the whole way around.

   It is an outstanding resource for new block patterns and a wonderful tool for quilting teachers
I have been collecting the 100 blocks magazines and missed obtaining copies of some of the earlier editions. The 1,000 blocks includes all the blocks from the first 10 volumes of the quiltermakers 100 blocks.
