Good - but not for B+

Good, but not specifically covered for the original rPi versions. If I could go back, I would have looked for a manual that is a little newer.

This is the one to get
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
This is the one book to start using your pi seriously. I've been through a few others. I have bookmarks on pages for network connections, Raspberry - setup, serial interface. Every time I create a new SD card, I refer to these pages. Also a great primer on Python programming, although I did not look at it as a software developer yet. Also a nice section on Linux. Could have gone slightly deeper, but that is just me. Here there is enough to show you how to do a lot. A section on the GPIO is also robust. Later on this point I haven 't looked too closely at that part yet.

3V and is much more easily breakable and less repairable
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
The Raspberry Pi cookbook is the newbie who doesn 't know too much about linux or python. Other RPI startup guides do not go into the greater depth for using linux and python, which is found here. RPi is a totally different beast than Arduino, since it has no AD, can not shunt supply of much current, 3.3V and is much more easily broken and less repairable. This book reflects the power of RPi in software development, Internet of Things World. This book, however, does not teach OOP techniques well. After working with RPi and this book, I like Arduino Uno, Arduino IDE and Arduino Cookbook more!

This is the first edition of a great Pi resource. Get the second.

Thought I was receiving the soon-to-be-released second edition. My bad, but should have been more clearly stated in the description. Here Monk still delivered a great book. If you find yourself getting into the Pi, this is a great book to have by your side. Not too big to use as a fly swatter, and not too small for its primary task of getting people excited about the Pi. Then you are excited, right? You got it right? Get the second book, but get the book's first edition. Grrr :

An Excellent Book With a Complete Table of Contents
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
I have written most of the books about the Pi and this is definitely one of the best. It also has a very complete table of contents on my iPad ( and each entry is linked to the corresponding chapter in the book. The table of contents is located at the end of the book and so a few reviewers who either did not look or wrote a review based only on a preview, have erroneously claimed that the table is missing and unfortunately they haven 't corrected their mistakes or adjusted their review ratings. The book has many 5-star reviews from competent reviewers and that is certainly what it deserves.

Great starting materiak
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
This book has a good intro to basic Linux command line navigation as well as good information on applicable Python coding for Pi projects. It then dives into different applications of controlling servos with a Pi and interacting with specific sensor data. It wraps with Pi and Arduino interactivity. In all, a great book to have for the beginner to intermediate Pi project enthusiast.

Great book - will help you get the most out of your Pi
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
Excellent book, well written with clear, concise steps and logical explanations of why steps are necessary, as opposed to just a list to complete. An excellent read and soon to be a well-knawed reference for my Pi!

Excellent reference. Fun to browse through.

This is a wonderful book to reference when you have some precious hobby time, but you need an idea of what to do. I use this book a lot and my children also use it as well. It was well spent the money. As always, Mr. Monk did an excellent job.
