They have more action so kids do not get bored. I highly recommend these books (there are only ...
My son is 7 and he has absolutely fallen in love with the series. The book series is part of a scholastic initiative designed to get readers young and excited about reading. My son gobbles them up. The boys have more action so kids don't get bored, he said.

   Doesn't Disappoint
My 6-year-old son has devoured the entire series. So much so that a year go we emailed the author in hopes that #3 would be on its way soon. It was a great surprise to my son when one of his favorite authors contacted him back. It's just that we don't have enough money." We're thrilled with the outcome, said Blair. The author has such a great way of keeping young kids in suspense that saving more chapters until the next night was just torture for my son!

This book its easy to read
This book is easy to read, even if you have no interest in religion. Once you start to read, you can't stop. This is the best book out of the series, but you should read the other books.

He reads these books quickly & doesn't even complain
I was looking for something fun and different for my son who is not yet reading. He also tells me that this book was "creepy" and "even recommended" it to some friends. He reads them all over again and doesn't even complain.

   Kids love it!
This is the first book in a series of Eerie Elementary books. Each week I read to 4th graders at my local school. They are exciting, lots of action, written through the eyes of an elementary school kid, and are pretty quick reads, too.

My 9 year old son loves these!!!
My son is 9 and has a very good academic record, but he is not a fan of reading. We have found some of the only books Mr. Hughes has ever read. One of the first times he read a book he said, "WHAT?! I've been reading for 20 minutes, Mr. Dhaliwal said. It felt like 5, said Dr. Goin. Thanks for the support! It's a very cute and imaginative story line, too, Blair said. I feel like they would be suitable for all kids, especially those needing a slower transition to chapter books, because they have a picture every 2-3 pages which my son loves! Great for 2nd and 3rd graders, or a higher level 1st grade reader!

Great story, said Blair. My son, who is 5 1/2, is excited to read every night to find out what happens next. This book is also his favorite of the series.

The books are fun and suspenseful without being too scary
The second book, "Lethal Confusion," was also a fun and suspenseful read without too many scares. They are also short, which gives reluctant readers a shorter time to read.
