To keep the people she loves safe, Sara left everything she knew behind. She soon learns this new world is nothing like her old one, and she struggles to make a place for herself among the Mohiri. But it soon becomes apparent to Sara and to everyone one around her that she is not your typical warrior.

As the weeks pass, Sara builds new relationships, copes with her new trainers, and tries to manage her ever-changing powers, while keeping her unique heritage a secret. Looming in the background is the constant shadow of the Master who will do anything to find her.

Sara finds herself on a journey of self-discovery that uncovers her true strengths and awakens a part of her she never knew existed. She experiences the delight of new friendships, the sweetness and pain of first love, and a loss so deep it could be the thing that finally breaks her. At the end of it all, she discovers that the one place she was supposed to be safe might not be the refuge she thought it was.

   🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
I forget how much I love this book when I read it again. Sara will do things that make you want to scream at her, but she is only 17 At 17 we were idiots. Sara moved to Westhorne, Idaho, after the events that happened in the last book. Sara has to work on creating new relationships far away from her family and friends. Jordan is my favorite of the side characters, she gets her own story, which is amazing, and I love how Sara and Jordan become friends. I enjoy the development of Sara and Nikolas' relationship. From Sara's side of the story, those two are absolutely adorable. The voice actor does an amazing job of bringing Sara to life in this book.

   First time
I' ve never read any of the authors books, but I'm so caught up in this series that I'm sleeping. I was trying to read one more chapter, but my eyes wouldn't stay open. It was well after 4 am. I had to know what would happen next. Two of my favorite authors have a third on their list. If the author writes well enough, I can look through the lens of their writing, like I'm sitting and watching everything unfold. Karen Lynch is one of the few writers that grabbed my attention and I am glad I found her books.

   My New Obsession
I' ve become obsessed with this series. I like to read something different in between books in a series to allow the story to breathe room, but I had to think about how much I wanted to get back to this series. I don't like having to put this series down and think about it when I get to pick it up again. I liked this book just as much as the first, and I love how the romance is a slow burn that makes you want to cry. The reason and motives behind all of the attacks in this book were put together in my head and I was really excited about it. I am terrible at mysteries so I enjoyed seeing everything come to fruition. I am not happy with the ending, but I want to see what happens in the next one.

   Great UF!
The romance does play a part in the narrative, but is far more urban fantasy. She learns who she is and what she can do as a result of her growth and learning. The second book slams us into the middle of the action and advances the story in a satisfying manner. FMC is independent! Hey dude, catch a clue. The girl is not in distress, no matter how protective you are. Jordan adores her. She gets her story later. She is coming into her own as Burgeoning powers. What a cool idea. Some character decisions are not right. This should really be a NA.

Be ready to put your life on hold. This book will not release you until you finish it and even then you MUST get the next book.
I enjoyed the first book. I was pulled in. I fell in love with the series. I didn't want to put this book down. I took it everywhere with me. I found myself laughing out loud with their quick banter and love for each other. It's horrible! I love a bad ass warrior who is protective of his girl. I am sad that there is only one more book left. I know there are two more but one is just a recap through a different pov and the other is the story of Roland, so I don't think there will be any more about my favorite warriors, especially Jordan. I wish she had her own series. I will get the last books because I love this world. When I travel, I'm most likely to find these books in my suitcase.
