   Great book.
I have lately been involved in spiritual growth books and this is one of the best. I made it make me want to purchase a course in miracles, which I recently did. This book is full of helpful information to make life more enjoyable and less threatening and problematic. Life is too short and I truly want to live to the fullest mine. If you are ready to receive this information, it will change your life.
   Shallower than you would think
There is a quote from this book that is often used, and I love it, so I thought I would check the book itself. It has some good points but also has a lot of wrong points. It was still interesting from the point of view of the author's specific struggles and sometimes things her therapists would say, but while other things may be less important or less lasting than love, that does not mean that they are not real, and there are some beautiful things about bodies and individuality that she does not get. For people with similar injuries, it could be helpful, however.
   This book changed my life.
I read this book when I was looking for a spiritula life. Something to believe in, a path of some kind. It awakened a nerve in me that hit me to the true meaning of life, love and forgiveness. That is what I try to practice everyday and really works. I get what I give out and Marianne has led me through this realization. I read this book for the third time and have bought it for a lot of people in recovery and it has really helped them.
because it deals with so many different aspects of your life and everyday is different so one day you may read something and it
This is one of those books that never gets old, you read it over and over and it will have a different meaning, because it deals with so many different aspects of your life, so that you may read something different the next time, but you may be dealing with something that is so much like what you are reading about and you can identify with it...
Whether you are an atheist, agnostic, religious or spiritual, the theme in this book is applicable to whatever you believe or don 't believe. It clearly and succinctly explains the benefits of extending love, residing within us all, and the overwhelming results we receive individually when we do so. Altho over 20 yrs remained over 20 yrs. Since I read this book first, I return to it again and again, since I read it again and again. It transformed my thinking... from one of a pessimistic, negative thinker to realizing that incredible fact that we are all capable of changing our minds. Marianne Williamson is a messenger of the healing power of love.... no church or temple, no tithing, no guru or exalted leader in this philosophy... simply a self-study course in trying our way to find meaning, purpose and fulfillment in a world that seems to be lacking in all three categories. She'll show you the way she'll show you. Recommend for all who feel a lack in their lives.
Not the Book I thought it was…
It was not the book I expected to read. If you are someone who does not identify as a Christian, but a spiritual person, I recommend this book. If you are a Christian, I think it would be difficult to read because the book describes foundational themes such as miracles, love, and fear using “Christian terminology ”, but is psychologically described. I am not going to lie, it was odd to read her rendition of these themes because this book uses Christian terminology to evangelize psychology rather than Christianity by misinterpreting what the Bible states directly. I personally did not get anything revolutionary out of this rendition, but I encourage people to read the book for themselves and decide what they think.
A Beautiful Introdction to A Course in Miracles.
If you are a traditional Christian who is seeking a book on biblical interpretation, this book is not for you. If you are curious about a reprint of those specific biblical principles, born of God's love, and of the Spirit within this world, you may find this a very good read. If you are looking for an introduction or an accompaniment to A Course in Miracles, this book is very worthwhile. Marianne Williamson has a clear vision of how we can raise ourselves beyond the self-inflicted pain that comes from our fear and our lack of understanding our source, love.
Best book I’ve purchased in the last 30 years!
This book has changed my life completely and my relationship with God. Based on a course in Miracles, it is actually a miracle. , I believe : ''
   Not Biblical
This book is not biblical. It is enlightened by someone who writes Jesus as just an enlightened man. She was the Son of God and speaks like he was only infused with the Holy Spirit. She also talks like other emotions we have are not real other than love. It is very limited and not really true to the Bible. I like it at first, until the author Jesus aligns Buddha and others as just filled with the Holy Spirit. I'm disappointed and give it a thumbs down.
Very Helpful if you are Going Through the Course in Miracles
Currently I am working through the course in Miracles through the course's Miracles. I bought this book as a kind of companion text and have found it very helpful and enlightening. While the language is sometimes difficult to understand in the course of Miracles, this book makes it clear and puts the principles into a more modern and easily understood context. I highly recommend this to anyone who is working through the course, but it is a great book on it's own as well.
