This book inspired my son to start reading near the end of the 1st grade! I thought he would be the last kid to learn to read until we discovered Ricky. After we read the books to my son, he wanted to read them so badly to himself and it all clicked just. Then we had to purchase all the Dav Pilkey series and then moved to Ricky Ricotta's captain underpants! Ha ha ha ha!

My kids LOVE these books!

My kids are so excited every time we get a new one in the series. The messages of these books are always positive-natured and empowering for children. The humor is Sweet - It gives parents a chuckle and it's just the right thing to watch your child explode with laughter. My kindergartener is able to read a good bit of it on his own and they love to look at them on their own. These are perfect for just about everything.

He is just learning to read on his own, and these books are perfect. On each page there are only a few sentences. Each chapter is just a few pages long. The stories are so interesting that he wants to read the whole book at once!

My 8 YO son was a HUGE captain underpants fan, but he had read them all and needed something new. I bought the books by Ricky Ricotta and really liked them as well. He said that they are not quite as good, but they are very, very great. I would recommend these books to anyone who has a child who loves to read or a struggling reader. The author has a way of bringing the children in and they just sit and giggle through the whole thing!

The hero robot, who fights young villains, appeals to creative boys. I did not think that the fighting pictures were violent. My son loved it and will soon move to the Captain Underpants series of the same author.
