A Great Edition for Teaching Shakespeare
English teachers should buy it for themselves even if your school doesn't stock it. I've found this edition to provide the right amount of notes, photos, and illustrations while giving the right amount of text per page for students to absorb. Students can keep a literary journal if they purchase the book. In order to prepare for teaching, any English teacher should do the same thing. I haven't seen the 2005 edition yet, but if it's an update of this version, it will be just as good. An English teacher will be prepared to teach this play if they have the following in their curriculum library: Shakespeare Alive, the Folger Library's Shakespeare Set Free, and the NCTE's TeachingRomeo and Juliet A Differentiated Approach.

   Great Movie!!
The modern setting with the original language, classic love story and actors that telegraph confusing emotions makes for a compelling and worthwhile watch. I saw this at 12 and have watched it many times since. I don't know how anyone would like this movie.

   Good Resource for Teachers
This is a great resource for teachers to use to teach their students about this famous play. The commentary is helpful, and the book also includes a more modern translation.
